  1. Lee Jackson did prefer Mean Green over Eagles.
  2. Sagarin ratings: UAB 72.52, UNT 64.09 So 8.5 point difference. Normal add for home team is currently 3.2, but I don't see 3.2 with our attendance.
  3. ASH, code for Mesa Airlines, an American Airlines regional airline, currently showing three direct 90-minute flights a day at 11:05 am, 4:35 pm and 8:15pm to Cedar Rapids (Eastern Iowa). Iowa City is maybe 30 minute drive south of there.
  4. Looking at UNT and other CUSA teams here http://sagarin.com/sports/cbsend.htm and adding a couple of points for Woolridge and Frazier, UNT is headed for a 5-13 conference record. A mild upset somewhere would push this to 6-12. The wins would come against Southern Mississippi (1-9) twice, Charlotte (home game only), UTEP (1-9), and UTSA (3-8). Unless UNT pulls off an upset at Charlotte this weekend, it could be 0-5 before getting a win in the Pit against Southern Mississippi. Games two through five are against teams with a combined 30-16 record and an aggregate Sagarin rating that is 10 points over UNT.
  5. A lot of us saw that during the second quarter. Wonder if he got fluids at half time, either orally or through IV. In any case, what a gutsy dedicated effort by Jeffrey Wilson.
  6. The 39,117 was the highest for a game not played on New Year's Day or January 2 (on Monday). That said, I find it hard to believe this was only a few hundred more than January 1, 2014. Army had a lot more fans than UNLV. Was NT that much less than the game three years ago? It sure didn't seem like it.
  7. Post-game handshakes had to be called off as some coaches and players started to get into a scuffle, as fans were loudly booing San Diego players while band was playing alma mater. Unfortunate end, but about time the team got angry.
  8. I shared the athletic department Facebook announcement to my page earlier today. A high school classmate (Richardson '64) who also went to North Texas responded by buying four tickets to HOD. He has not been to a game at Apogee because he could not get wife or kids to go. I responded by suggesting that we get a group of Richardson alums who also went to NT together for a game or two next year. He is all in!
  9. I was browsing before making the observation that we will end up playing Army three times in a span of 13 months in three different stadiums. How unique is that?
  10. Army is a 6-5, but I believe they do not want to count game against Lafayette (FCS) nor fall back on APR; so they need to beat Navy to get in. Looking at top APR teams on the bubble, that leaves Northwestern (remaining game against Illinois, 3-8), Vanderbilt (against Tennessee, 8-3), and UNT (at UTEP, 3-8). I agree that UNT is very likely to get in.
  11. I will be there with my usual basketball sidekick.
  12. UTSA band outnumbered students. The crowd consists of local fans with no other football to watch. UTSA band was boring pre-game with annoying constant drum roll. Much of halftime consumed by local cheer groups, and UTSA band was late getting on and off. They never gave the Brigade a chance to play UNT alma mater before the game. Nice to have seats instead of bench, but way too narrow rows and seats, and no cup holders. Really hated the place. Concessions were a joke. Sunset station venue for alumni tailgate was nice.
  13. Visitor section is 138 per UTSA stadium section map.
  14. They took bus down here, arrived late afternoon.
  15. I hope they use the UAB return as an opportunity to split our Texas competition home and away schedules.
  16. I heard that the UTSA tickets did not even come in until earlier this week, so I think they sent tickets based on our orders up to that time. Ticket sales through our ticket office were low, but the alumni tailgate is over-booked at 250+ versus capacity of 200. Those numbers plus the band will add up to a decent UNT crowd.
  17. Hmmm, not what I heard when I called ticket office Tuesday afternoon. I am expecting delivery.
  18. I will be in green, and I was told the band is going. UPDATE: Assuming my tickets arrive on time. When I called this afternoon, I learned not all had been sent yet; and they could not tell me if my had or not. Hope to hear in the morning.
  19. Marriott River Center - easy walk to game.
  20. Current forecast for homecoming (I know, 12 days out) is high of 75, mostly sunny during the day, and then cloudy with 20% chance of evening showers. If that holds, and timing could well be off, weather should favor a great turnout. Update: Just noticed another post with high of 67 and 20% light rain. My source is The Weather Channel app, and their rain forecast is for the evening. Plus I was using Flower Mound, but doubt that Denton would be much different. I will take 67 or 75 or anything in between.
