  1. I wouldn’t say it’s a marquee game. TXST hasn’t had a winning season in a decade and UTSA is coming off a disappointing loss to a mediocre Houston team. I’m interested to see if last week was just a fluke for TXST.
  2. Great pod, guys. Quick note on Houston: I disagree that they have a good team. They aren't expected to do much and a lot of people don't even have them making a bowl game. It was a disappointing loss for UTSA considering all the hype and expectations they have. But to the overall point, UH and Cal are similar programs right now so to see UTSA compete makes our loss even more troubling.
  3. UNT- 38 FIU- 20 FIU is really bad, guys.
  4. Disagree that Cal is an average AAC team. I think they'll end up being better than everyone except Tulane and SMU. Still no excuse for the embarrassing performance we displayed.
  5. I believe he applied for the TXST running backs coach job less than a month after being hired at UNT…I don’t think he loves UNT more than any other school that might give him a job.
  6. How far Littrell lowered the program?!? We were a 1-11 program when Littrell took over.
  7. If you’re looking for an actual sports bar then RT’s Bar is your best bet. But if you want a good pregame atmosphere with lots of UNT fans then I recommend Eastside. They’ll have the TCU game on lots of TVs. Plus, there are tons of other bars within walking distance.
  8. I think there's a next to zero chance UTEP is being considered.
  9. I imagine the pool of candidates to replace SMU are: Army, James Madison, TXST, App State, Georgia State
  10. About 6 per game? Just looking at Minnesota vs Nebraska and Utah vs Florida: Minnesota possessions: 10 Nebraska possessions: 9 Florida possessions: 12 Utah possessions: 12
  11. Y'all are going to need "winnable" games to get to bowl eligibility and I think your AD loves that we help fill up your stadium. I don't think SMU would be against playing UNT in OOC. But like others have said, the series was cancelled when we joined the AAC and we don't have any OOC openings until 2030. This year's game will be the last for a long time.
  12. They were selling the Flying Worm throwback jerseys at the Kick Off Event so unless we get new throwbacks I highly doubt we see the Worm this year.
  13. If we're looking at Sun Belt/CUSA schools as replacements then my #1 choice would be James Madison...They were a great FCS program and had a very impressive first year in the Sun Belt. They've also shown a commitment to facilities with their new basketball arena. I hope we can build something similar one day.
  14. You're missing the 2018 SMU game. Hype was crazy. Coming off our surprising 2017 season and hosting our most hated rival. 29.5K fans saw UNT crush SMU, 46-23.
  15. “Auditioning for a potential new conference…” What??
  16. I have the AAC going 8-5... UAB vs NC A&T - W Tulsa vs Arkansas Pine Bluff - W ECU vs Michigan - L SMU vs LA Tech - W Temple vs Akron - W Rice vs Texas - L South Florida vs WKU - L North Texas vs Cal - L Charlotte vs South Carolina St - W FAU vs Monmouth - W Memphis vs Bethune-Cookman - W UTSA vs Houston - L Tulane vs South Alabama - W
  17. Hey, I’d rather drink in comfort and show up to the game refreshed than sweat my ass off in the blazing Sun. Plus, it helps keep the ladies happy.
  18. Think they make Joe pay the $15 fee to get physical tickets? lol
  19. Bar hopping on the Square where there is A/C.
  20. I tried doing this today and didn’t see anywhere to download the tickets. All I could find is where to transfer them.
  21. I low key like this one. MUCH better than the "North Texas" helmets from the Dodge and McCarney eras.
  22. They were negative because it’s very concerning after all this time we still don’t have a clear QB1. It’s not their job to sugarcoat everything like some of you want. If Morris would have come out and said something like, “It’s been a great battle this camp, but in the end Stone Earle has earned the right to lead us this fall as our starting Quarterback…” Brune and Collin wouldn’t have been as negative.
