I am starting to think this may really be happening!

100% I think you take former P5s whenever you get the chance. Plus, it would still probably be enough to convince any MWC teams to join. -

...Because Alabama runs the best conference in college football? Slighty different than 4 bottom half P5 programs needing to find a home ASAP. The AAC knows the PAC 4 won't be able to get a good TV deal by expanding with just MWC teams. Why jump ship when you can wait them out AND add whatever MWC teams you want to get a TV deal that would rival what you'd get for going through the hassle of jumping to the Pac? -

I read SMU would owe around $20 million if they left for the ACC in 2024. Not sure if that’s accurate. I don’t think the PAC 4 have much leverage. It would be very complicated to convince multiple MWC/AAC schools to join. Especially when the AAC knows 3 of the 4 schools HAVE to find a conference. Why not just force them to join you and then bring SDSU and Boise St along? Those additions would trigger a renegotiation of the ESPN contract that would probably see every school get paid over $10 million/year. -
LOL at the TV suits if they think they're going to pull in a bunch of Northeast CFB casuals. The NFL is king in that part of the country and most people couldn't care less about CFB. This also applies to most of the West Coast. And what happens when Ohio State vs USC becomes old hat? Right now that game is such a big deal because it rarely happens. But will casuals keep tuning in once it becomes just another Saturday noon kick?

Early Clubhouse Leader for Worst Uniforms in the AAC

I don’t understand UAB’s obsession with the highlighter green. Gross. -
I don't think limited amounts of throwback NTSU apparel is going to cause more people to start calling us North Texas State. Take a quick glance through Homefield's website and you'll see merch using a school's old name.
-
That’d be sweet. Could call it La Águila (eagle) to keep within their established brand.
-
Because throwback apparel is hot right now. Voertman's killed it with their North Texas State Flying Worm hoodies/sweatshirts last year.

Glad they realized putting the bar underneath the wing with no view of the field wasn't a good idea. -
I loved how much Audacity used Denton/UNT within their branding. The actual beer? Ehh...not so much.

Attendance Prediction Against California

21,500 Heat is going to be brutal. Going to kill the student attendance. -
I don't believe that's true. I heard awhile back the Golf program had these made as gifts for a charity golf tournament years ago. Doesn't look like Soft Stuff Creations sells any other their custom designs. Best way to make these available to purchase would be to reach out to the UNT Athletic Dept and Voertman's about placing another order for Voertman's to sell.
-
If only it was available for purchase...

No inside info. Morris didn't bring Rogers here to be a backup. For him not get the QB1 job would mean he looked really bad in practice or Ruder totally outclassed him. I don't think either of those things have happened since Spring Ball.
-
It's going to be Rogers.

North Texas Adds 6 Games for Future

So you're saying a four year stretch of losing football that saw our fanbase abandon the program and our coach fired was impressive to the AAC? Okay, then. -

Do you think 0 winning seasons and a 21-28 record since 2019 was a big selling point for us? We got into the American because of our location and commitment to facilities. Not because of anything we've done on the field. Nothing wrong with admitting that. -

Haha come on, man...2 winning seasons in 6 years is not why all of that was accomplished. All those things happened because of the hard work from Wren, Smatresk, our top donors, and probably Mosely. -

We play Texas Tech and Wyoming at home in 2027. Anyone complaining about an easy SEVENTH home game against a TX FCS opponent needs a serious reality check.- 86 replies

They will bring more than most of our conference mates would/do. There will be a couple thousand people in purple.
