  1. Im cool with them joining as long as we don’t wear a corny American flag SOW on our helmet when we play them.
  2. Crazy how different the players and FIU's stadium look when its not viewed through their crappy camera's on ESPN+. Always looks so dead and dreary on TV.
  3. If Rogers starts at QB (God help us if he doesn't) I think our offense will put up a lot of points. Unfortunately, we might have the worst defense in CFB history. I simply can't pick us to win right now. La Tech- 40 North Texas- 34
  4. FIU lost more to the portal than we did. They are arguably worse than last year. The blaming of Baker in this thread is comical. The fact is our coaching staff has been a massive failure so far and deserves all the blame. Wren didn’t force Morris to start Earle or go with a defensive scheme that everyone questioned from the start. Our staff had time to retool through the portal. They just chose not to. It was a total misevaluation of how our current roster would fit their schemes.
  5. I don’t love it, but it’s way better than the one they ran last year. The one where the hipster girl with the dyed hair and cow print pants tried to convince the viewer UNT is so much cooler than other universities #KillMe #Cringe
  6. For correctly pointing out what needs to be done? We’re in this spot because our coaching staff didn’t hit the portal enough.
  7. I agree, Wren should have fired Littrell after the 1-5 start in 2021, but spare me the BS that last night was his fault. Morris took over a 7-7 program that had a good amount of talent coming back and somehow has sunk us to the depths of the Dodge era in one offseason.
  8. I think the AAC would love to add TXST if they show improvement the next couple years. Only thing holding them back is their pathetic on-field performance. Since moving to FBS in 2012, they've only had one winning season (2014). Their record since 2014 is 23-73 and haven't won more than 4 games in a season.
  9. And the small fact he went 5-18 his last 2 seasons.
  10. Green tinted glasses? I'm looking at it through UTSA glasses. Losing to a new Big 12 team that a lot of people don't think will make a bowl game is a bad loss for a G5 team expected to compete for a NY6 Bowl.
  11. FCS games on the NFL Network getting better ratings than FBS matchups on ESPNU tell me there is something screwy with these ratings.
  12. I wouldn’t say it’s a marquee game. TXST hasn’t had a winning season in a decade and UTSA is coming off a disappointing loss to a mediocre Houston team. I’m interested to see if last week was just a fluke for TXST.
  13. Great pod, guys. Quick note on Houston: I disagree that they have a good team. They aren't expected to do much and a lot of people don't even have them making a bowl game. It was a disappointing loss for UTSA considering all the hype and expectations they have. But to the overall point, UH and Cal are similar programs right now so to see UTSA compete makes our loss even more troubling.
  14. UNT- 38 FIU- 20 FIU is really bad, guys.
  15. Disagree that Cal is an average AAC team. I think they'll end up being better than everyone except Tulane and SMU. Still no excuse for the embarrassing performance we displayed.
  16. I believe he applied for the TXST running backs coach job less than a month after being hired at UNT…I don’t think he loves UNT more than any other school that might give him a job.
  17. How far Littrell lowered the program?!? We were a 1-11 program when Littrell took over.
  18. If you’re looking for an actual sports bar then RT’s Bar is your best bet. But if you want a good pregame atmosphere with lots of UNT fans then I recommend Eastside. They’ll have the TCU game on lots of TVs. Plus, there are tons of other bars within walking distance.
  19. I think there's a next to zero chance UTEP is being considered.
  20. I imagine the pool of candidates to replace SMU are: Army, James Madison, TXST, App State, Georgia State
  21. About 6 per game? Just looking at Minnesota vs Nebraska and Utah vs Florida: Minnesota possessions: 10 Nebraska possessions: 9 Florida possessions: 12 Utah possessions: 12
  22. Y'all are going to need "winnable" games to get to bowl eligibility and I think your AD loves that we help fill up your stadium. I don't think SMU would be against playing UNT in OOC. But like others have said, the series was cancelled when we joined the AAC and we don't have any OOC openings until 2030. This year's game will be the last for a long time.
