  1. Orr forced another fumble on kickoff coverage after the ravens scored on their first possession. Unfortunately neither were recovered but two forced fumbles in the playoffs your rookie year is pretty remarkable.

  5. Brelan getting signed by the Steelers is wonderful news for our young UNT hero. This great kid deserves a shot, he won games for UNT.

  6. Our own Zach Orr got a mention on the Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon tonight, albeit in a comedy bit. During a "superlatives" segment resembling high school superlatives, Jimmy showed pictures of NFL players (mostly Baltimore Ravens) and their "awards." The last picture shown was of Zach and he was named "most likely not to be ticklish." At least Zach is getting some publicity as linebacker for the Baltimore Ravens! GO MEAN GREEN!

  7. Had a blast at the game, albeit a little nerveracking. I did overhear a Rice fan yell out "I hate losing to stupid schools!!" His tears were delicious.

  8. Very excited to watch these two guys play together for the next 3 to 4 seasons. Wesley would have also added to a nice young team I'm hoping not only can we continue to win and grow this season but recruit well heading into the next.

  9. UNT defense really clamped down on Rice's offense and lead the Owls 32-26 at the half. I believe the announcer said we held them without a field goal for the final 8 minutes of the half

  12. I love how you are just assuming that RV did nothing about the whole the moment he knew we were heading to CUSA. Was it us or Tennessee that wanted to move the game?

  13. Don't forget the importance of having a competent AD who is able to execute the plan. That is a HUGE piece of the puzzle missing at UNT.

  15. So I'm actually in Houston right now, and am going to the game tomorrow. I don't really know why I chose this one to come to, we'll see how it goes. I will say that NASA was pretty sweet though.

  19. This post is just full of win and awesome, just like the current state of the basketball program.

  20. He doesn't have a verified (laser) time, so nothing official. He doesn't even have a non-verified time, so just judging by his film he'd probably be somewhere between 4.7 and 4.9. He's fast enough where he could be a legitimate D1 tight end, but I think we have to give him a shot at qb if he comes here. If he played qb he'd somewhere in the same ballpark as Mcnulty, speed wise. Fast enough to extend a play with his legs every once in a while and get decent gains on zone reads if the read is for him to keep. But not a guy who you mold the offense around his running. We've picked up 2 more crystal ball picks for Dillman on 247. Up to 6 total crystal ball picks.

  22. I never really thought of TCU as "the rich," only an example of what's possible if you devise a good plan and stick to it with a coach who's on board and committed to the program for the long haul. I guess I've just thought of TCU as everything I ever wanted for UNT. They're kind of an against-all-odds program.

  24. Not entirely sure what a "paper" is. I think I heard about it from my great grandparents once. Reddit, which tends to lean heavily liberal bordering on socialist with a side of violently killing the rich, was posting the images extensively, oftentimes in nicely consolidated imgur albums before the French police even had the yellow crime scene tape hung. I guess what I'm getting at is that traditional news sources, be they conservative, liberal, television, radio, or (seriously? this still exists?) print media are completely irrelevant and meaningless to me, and I'm the old guy on the scene. Nobody under forty gives a left rodent testicle as to what a newspaper does, says, omits, or fudges.

  25. As I figured. Only Matt Drudge and just about ALL of the conservative outlets, blogs etc chose to repost the cartoons. But not the main stream guys though. Especially not ones like the New York Times.....you know, that bastion of Journalistic integrity? 26. Actually, there was a massive amount of evidence if you cared to look. When he made that statement, we had 4 home games scheduled. FOUR. We also had 3 contracted OOC away games. Tennessee had already been moved once and Tennessee wasn't going to allow us to move it again. SMU was a part of a long term series, thus not moveable, and Iowa was a pride and joy. But lets say he magically convinced Iowa to back the game up to the open spot in 2018. Well, he would then have to find a team with an away spot on their schedule in 2015 that needed a home game in 2019, the earliest we could return the game. Way too late in the scheduling game for that to even be a possibility. Or he could ask for the Iowa game to be moved to 2016, but then we would have a 5 home game season in 2016. and he would have to pay money for both these changes. Contracts are made for a reason. Or, he could pay 2 teams money game money to come to Denton in 2015. Ain't a chance in hell. This question was asked late summer 2014. Please tell me what school is going to move their schedule that late in the game? The answer is not a freaking one, unless you pay them a buttload of money, and we all know that's not happening. But RV later had the chance to answer the question again when Harry asked him point blank. Twice. On 2 different podcast. The first time he again danced around the question knowing full well the answer. The second time he talked about how challenging the schedule was and Tulsa leaving the conference really messed things up (big news here folks: TULSA ISN'T AN OOC GAME!). As a matter of fact, I still don't think he has publicly stated that we will only have 5 home games next year, and probably won't until the schedule is released. He simply won't fade the heat. Probably because he hasn't had to his entire career at UNT. But you are right, no evidence at all...

  27. You people should really start pony-ing up for satellite radio. It's one of the few luxuries I refuse to give up. The only AM/FM radio I ever listen to is 88.1 these days.

  28. He will make that deal shortly after the national title game, getting the coveted 3rd whore game of the year. With the budget balanced for the next 2 years, he will then prop his feet up on his desk for the next 23 1/2 months and admire a job well done. *sarcasm tag - we won't really have 3 whore games next year.

  29. Remember that kid Benford recruited that only played AAU ball? Didnt play on his HS team until he was a senior, and then couldn't get minutes... In high school... The problem is AAU are as much talent brokers for colleges as they are basketball coaches. A fair percentage are as much in it for themselves as they are for the kids. Dirty business.

  31. Just saw a tape of an Urban Meyer interview done earlier today...when Talking about QB's... When a guy is really talented but that guy is immature and doesn't use his talents it's pretty much a waste of time.. Note: I didn't put quotes around it as I am sure that isn't an exact quote...pretty close, but not exact. Hmmm...that could be said about athletes in general and people pretty much about the general public as well. But, was he saying that a player's maturity and attitude were on them? Anyone else catch this statement? If so...can you add a bit more perspective on the statement...he was shown just after his freshman QB was interviewed...related? Don't know...surely someone else caught this...was on during halftime of the NDS-I'll St Championship game..,I wasn't paying complete attention. Anyone?

  33. You say it was a lie, but do you know that he wasn't working to move a game? You assume that he was just lying to avoid a tough answer, but you have no evidence that was the case, just your own personal opinion. He did not guarantee that the game would be moved, he said that they were attempting to move it. Be mad at him for creating the situation where the schedule has the two away games, but don't project anger that he knowingly lied when you simply have no evidence that was the case.

  34. Urban Meyer > Dan McCarney Urban Meyer > Tony Benford When Urban Meyer makes these kinds of statements it's fair to say he's making a fair generalization and not deflecting blame for failure to succeed. Any other shoe horned comparisons you'd like to draw?
