Yes but the cost of an education has also risen quite a bit. I think the value of an education means much less than the money NIL can provide players. The players value the NIL money more than any degree typically. That money can help their families and some of them already have kids to support. - Yesterday

I got this article in my inbox, basically stating that Cal now has a new position called NIL Director. Is this now allowed and is it something we should be doing as well? https://writeforcalifornia.com/p/california-golden-bears-nil-name-image-likeness

We have had a few P5 transfer DL and LBs visit. If they want immediate playing time, they should commit on the spot. JD has the scoop for us as usual. He's the official source of Mean Green Football.

the literal value, to a scholarship athlete or a regular paying undergrad, has been devalued 10-fold from what it was even 20 years ago. there was a time when a scholarship was probably right in line with appropriate payment. that time is well-passed. and it's not the 18-22 year olds today fault. -
Looks like he started at Lamar https://lamarcardinals.com/sports/football/roster/treviance--bronson/11041

Absolutely! If you want to purchase with us let me know how many. Back when I started doing the group outings with basketball, I didn't think I'd expand this to football because of the allotted tickets that benefitted UNT, but because of seat locations and higher prices I thought why the heck not. Ultimately, I don't want to compete with what UNT is doing, I just want more green at the game. For these road games at South Alabama, Texas Tech, and UTSA I've been prospecting through LinkedIn for people who live near those areas and have been having good conversations with getting those people out. The end goal is not only to increase engagement but also try to drum up interest in establishing more alumni chapters.

Thanks. Again, I appreciate what you are doing and will be in for some tickets to that game for sure since I live out here in no man's land.

I have no idea who we are hosting or what we are doing regarding addressing a pressing need at DL, but it appears to be a position of need all across FCS based off of what I have read. Are we even looking at JUCO's?
-
I have checked with the AD a couple of months ago when basketball season was still in session. I was told they make a very slim margin on tickets. Plus like most opposing venues, the visiting team (and band) are given isolated sections in the corners. For Tech, they're giving our AD tickets in Sections 110 and 111, which is weird considering our team will be on the east sideline. I think they don't want opposing colors to be on the TV side.

I'd take Kenny Williams again in a heartbeat. He was definitely an exception.
-
Greatest center I ever saw here.....was maybe 6'7" ....Kenny Williams.
-
I hope we are bigger than 6'8" at the center position.
-
Love what you are doing, but would it be worth checking with our AD to see how they are doing tickets for this game? Do they get credit or earn some revenue based off of what they sell? Just curious.

Oh I agree with you but our pal Tom likely thinks he owes us that last year of eligibility. He’s a bit greedy when it comes to young men’s lives and futures.
-
He left us for the pros. How dare him?
-
Where is @Tom McKrackinto complain about how he left us?
-
You are just looking for reasons to be pissy. He redshirted his freshman year and then played for us for 4 years after that starting 35 games in that span. He used his free covid year to go to one of the top 20 academic universities in the nation where was on the SEC academic honor roll. Great young man and I am proud to call him a North Texas alumnus.
