Iranian Nuclear Facility Hit With Malware (Thunderstruck plays aloud)

Recommended Posts

"An email to F-Secure — allegedly sent from an AEOI scientist — detailed the attack, noting that the malware has shut down some of the facility's automated processes. The rather vague wording of the email leaves a few unanswered questions as to just what parts of the AEOI are in danger, but one piece of information was very clear: The insidious software prompted several of the group's computers to begin playing the song "Thunderstruck" by AC/DC in the middle of the night, and at full volume."

Did one of you.....maybe one of the AD Staffers......nah....just forget it.

The Cyber War that we have waged against Iran has been both fascinating and frightening.

This article details how the CIA and Mossad worked together to develop Flame.

Sabotage of a nation's infrastructure used to be considered an overt act of war.

I would think it still is. Iran just has no way to effectively respond, other than sponsoring terrorism.

Similar to how we don't respond to China's government sponsered hackers....because we owe them so much money....and they can figure out who did it. If the Mossad were involved I would have loved to see Dradel Dradel Dradel as the song of choice

NOT LIKELY. I bet that out-to-lunch AD staff at the Coal Mine on Bonnie Brae is still using Erlang...when they're actually here that is.

Also, if you ever get a chance to talk to someone in the cyber security space, get your popcorn ready and prepare to be fascinated.

If it is one of our staffers, can you please tweak the code and replace Thunderstruck with our fight song? Thanks

No, not "Dreidel", not "Thunderstruck", it should have been Kiss - "Rock and Roll All Nite" - led by the great israeli-American, Gene Simmons!
