The football part....

"On the football front, offensive lineman Matt Tomlinson will have knee surgery on Thursday. UNT head coach Todd Dodge said doctors will not know the extend of the injury until they operate, but that he is confident Tomlinson will be ready for fall practice.

UNT went through another third-down scrimmage at the end of practice Monday. The defense won 12-9, making 12 stops while giving up nine first downs.

UNT took a long look at the film from its last scrimmage before hitting the field and worked out for a little less than an hour and a half. Dodge was particularly happy with the way the Mean Green responded to a short practice after a scrimmage. UNT was crisp throughout the workout and didn't mail it in, which Dodge said can be a problem with short practices after scrimmages. Dodge has been particularly happy with the Mean Green's effort the last two Mondays."

I'm glad the defense is still hanging tough with the offense. Was Tomlinson already out for spring practice or is this a new injury? How many OLs do we have coming back in Fall that we haven't seen this spring? We could get a new 1/3 of the team back for fall camp it seems.

I hate the part about Tomlinson. Any knee surgery unfortunately isn't good, unless it is just a closer look of the joint arthroscopically. I really like that Didge is developing a mental game as evidence by more film review than field practice at this time of the year. This is a good time to access conditioning. Watching films is developing a mental game. Go Dodge!
