NEWPORT, Rhode Island (9/27/05) – For the second straight tournament, North Texas redshirt freshman Harris Graham has posted a top 10 finish, this time at the Adams Cup of Newport Classic to pace the men’s golf team to a seventh place finish.

Graham, playing in only his second tournament for the Mean Green, shot a final round of 4-over 76, and finished tied for 10th place with a three round score of 228.

North Texas climbed a spot after the second round to finish in seventh place in an elite field of 16 teams with a three-round score of 931.

“I wish that we could have done a little better than we did, but I did start to see some more consistency out of our guys which I was looking for,” said North Texas head coach Jim Bob Jackson. “We are getting there as a team and I’m really excited about this group and there potential”.

Sophomore Anthony Broussard fired a final round of 5-over par 77 and closed out his three-rounds at 233, tied for 25th.

Austin Welch was three shots behind Broussard and tied for 34th with a 236 for the tournament. Senior Andreas Kali had his best round of the tournament after struggling the first day as he fired a final round of 4-over par 76 to finish at 240. KT Livingston shot an 84 in the final round and had a three-round total of 242.

North Texas is back in action on October 10-11 at the Missouri Bluffs Classic in St. Charles, Mo.
