  1. If it was up to me I'd go by North Texas and bring back the interlocking "NT" as a primary logo along side the "diving eagle". Its a logo we've used multiple times throughout our history and I hate how its been relegated to only being used for the alumni and Letterwinner's associations. We could even use an updated version that has the same font as the North Texas script we've been using for years. That being said, it seems pretty clear the school and athletic department are hell bent on moving to UNT. If that's the route we want to go then we need to design a new logo for our athletics teams. A lot of programs use different branding than their universities. University branding tends to be dull, corporate, and lifeless. UNT is no different, which is why we need an overhaul. You mentioned UCF as a model and I agree, they have great branding. But look how drastically different the athletics logos are compared to the university...our leadership needs to drop the idea that branding for the school and athletics has to be the exact same. Athletics: University:
  2. This is great. It's frustrating UNT seems to believe there is only 1 tier. Literally, all we have is the "diving eagle" and the UNT and North Texas scripts. Our lack of approved logos is why our merchandise all has the same generic look.
  3. I actually feel like we have a decent amount of big time donors that float the program. IMO, UNT's biggest problem is the total lack of mid to low level donors. Considering the amount of active alumni, there should be at least 10K people who donate between $5K-$300/year, but instead we probably only have a couple thousand. Schools with MUCH smaller alumni bases have done a lot better job cultivating these kind of donors.
  4. I hate when our coaches and players reference one of Big Game Boomer’s lists. It’s a garbage account that trolls more than anything else.
  5. Sounds like he wanted to get back on the sidelines and Texas wasn't giving him that opportunity.
  6. And he probably knows he's not going to see a lot of touches in Morris' offense. I don't blame him for leaving and its why I don't think its a massive loss with Gumms on the roster.
  7. The defending champs were 2-10 last year so its a little early to suggest they're the next Cincy/UCF. One of those top 3 you mentioned is Navy, who went an impressive 4-8. The top of the conference is being gutted. 3 of the top 5 teams from this year are gone, while the bottom 6 all return. There's no reason we should wallow around .500 for multiple years.
  8. After living in Minneapolis for 2 years I'd love to see us play Minnesota in September. The weather is perfect that time of year and there is so much to do around the Twin Cities.
  9. And the AAC we're joining is a different animal than the one this year. This hypothetical would be disastrous for UNT. It would put us right back to where we were with Littrell .
  10. There needs to be a non-UNT CFB forum. A lot of stuff gets posted in the UNT Football forum that doesn't belong, but since its CFB related people post anyways.
  11. The athletic department will tell you the “Golfing Scrappy” is not an official athletics/university logo so it will not be approved for merchandise.
  12. I'll trust Morris to put together the best staff.
  13. I believe UTSA is bringing back 9-10 starters on offense from the Championship game. They're going to be good next year. If I'm being honest, I'm counting that as a loss. 2024 is when they'll probably regress. Right now, I'd break up the games like this: Likely wins: La Tech, ACU, Temple, Navy Toss ups: Cal, Tulsa, Memphis, UAB Likely losses: UTSA, SMU, Tulane
  14. Sucks the Musers are on vacation. They probably won't have Morris on until they're back from break after the New Year.
  15. Just checked the OOC schedule for our 2023 AAC opponent's and no one has an opening for 9/9. I figure that locks us into 9/9 for our last OOC game. And the only AAC opponents that are open on 9/23 are Navy and Tulane. So it appears we will be on the road for our first AAC matchup.
  16. Good catch on the 9/23 opening. I don't remember that being the case either when we looked last month. I can't see Baylor being an option since they're already on the upcoming schedule. I figure the most likely scenario for 9/23 is traveling to Southern Miss, followed by hosting Ohio for a 3rd OOC home game.
  17. That’s a really bad reason to let the program languish in mediocrity. I can’t see Mosley letting our 3rd biggest sport fall into despair.
  18. Hundreds of players have entered the portal before bowl season. Why risk losing a chance at moving to a better situation to play in a bowl game?
  19. I believe COVID halted all expansion plans. Originally, it was supposed to be completed by now. I don’t think the AD has announced an updated timeline.
  20. I don't have the exact figures, but I'm pretty sure it would be in the bottom 3 of the AAC. I agree, he must have some very attainable bonuses because that's a low base for any AAC coach to agree to.
  21. I feel like if there was going to be a flood to the portal it would have already happened. Especially, if some guys were apparently planning to leave anyways. Not sure why anyone wanting to leave would stick around for a meaningless bowl games while precious roster spots are being taken elsewhere? Not saying we won't lose some, but I'm not too worried about a mass exodus.
  22. I 100% disagree with you on our defensive line. We might be okay in terms of edge rushers, but our interior is undersized and is pushed around way too much. Outside of QB, its our biggest weakness right now. I actually think we have serviceable corners. It's our safeties that concern me. Getting players there should be a top priority along with QB and interior DL.
  23. As far as expectations go, anything less than 6 wins next year would be really disappointing. There are enough winnable games to get there.
