  1. To be fair, our fanbase didn’t do much to keep him here. Crappy attendance despite historic levels of winning will drive any coach away.
  2. Having a hard time getting upset about this. Pretty obvious everyone has known about it for awhile.
  3. Are you saying she turned down D1 offers because it was UNT or bust? Seems like she never had aspirations to play college ball or no one thought she was good enough. Either way, it’s nothing to criticize our program about.
  4. So you think we screwed up because we didn’t recruit someone who isn’t even going to play college basketball? I get wanting to recruit locally, but the fact she’s not even playing in college tells me we didn’t miss anything.
  5. Talking National Title hopes just because we beat a few teams that would have been seeded 11-16 in the NCAA Tourney might be a stretch...
  6. The ROTF is the best Texas CFB podcast, IMO. They do their best to give all FBS programs equal coverage. I really have no idea how you come away thinking they don’t do their research. Regardless of what you think about Craven, Johnson, and Hartley individually, as a team they know their stuff.
  7. The Green Room is the best UNT podcast. Excited to see what they’ll do under the DCTF umbrella.
  8. I would swap Tristian Thompson and Jordan Williams. Tristian's offensive numbers were so much better. Dude shot 41.8% from 3 in 2011 and 45.9% overall! Compared to Williams' 30.3% from 3 and 40.2% overall in 2014.
  9. Common Opponents: Grand Canyon: North Texas (W 60-58), SHSU (L 72-68) (L 78-75) UTA: North Texas (W 60-57) SHSU (L 70-58) (W 66-56)
  10. People were grabbing torches and pitchforks to run Littrell out of town and he had more success. Mitchell has a 60-77 record in a poor conference. Like Littrell, it's become obvious Mitchell isn't the person to lead us into a much tougher league.
  11. Unfortunately, Tech built their success on the foundation of defense first basketball. I don't think they'd have any issues with his style.
  12. She has a 60-77 conference record over 8 seasons and just had her worst year overall, IMO. It’s time for a change. She’s not bigger than the program.
  13. I don't buy that. Anyone who cares enough to find a UNT game on ESPN+ is more than likely finding their way to a couple games every year. I agree with Green Otaku, we just don't have a fanbase for basketball right now. The best way to change that would be to get buy in from the Denton community, but we all know that's something UNT has never been good at...
  14. I guess the AD thought it was doing more harm than good. I'm sure it was a massive barrier that kept a lot of people away. Sounds like they're betting on selling more season tickets at a higher price that will help offset the loss of future stadium fund contributions. Your example of what someone paid with the seat license for 4 tickets versus No seat license and higher ticket price (using Green 2025 pricing): $50,000 [seat license cost] $3360 [4 tickets + donations] x 5 years = $16,800 Over five years the total cost has been $66,800 -------- $0 [seat license cost] $6,000 [4 tickets + donations] x 5 years = $30,000 Over five years the total cost will be $30,000 While I 100% get the frustration of you and your friend, I think this move will help increase Club Seats sales and grow the MGSF, which the athletic dept desperately needs. Though I think it would be a smart move to offer any fan who paid off their stadium fund contribution a percentage off the new ticket prices.
  15. But under the old model wouldn't he be required to pay another stadium fund contribution over 5 years? The flyer I found makes it seem like the stadium fund contribution only covers 5 years...But I'll defer to people with actual experience.
  16. I would be interested to hear how the remaining balance of the stadium fund contributions are being handled. If someone has 2 years of payments left, is the remaining amount being forgiven? Or lets say someone paid off their stadium fund contribution early, are they seeing some kind of refund on the remaining years of the lease? If the answer is no, then there's a definite gripe to be had and possible legal action.
  17. The Mavericks have 41 home games, while we have 6. They also have a lot more club level seats than we do. That's going to cause a big difference in price per game. The cost of our club level has been very low for years. And they still will be on the cheap side for an FBS program after the increases finish in 2025. For example, in 2021, it cost between $1,450 and $1,500 for SMU club seats. For Houston, the only data I could find is from 2019. Their club level seats were $1,525. Even after the 2025 increases, around half of our club level will be priced well below these at $1,250. If someone doesn't want to pay the increased costs that's fine. But it's not accurate to say the AD is price gouging when you look at what other Texas AAC schools have been charging recently.
  18. Where are you seeing pricing for $300/game? The most expensive ticket listed is HUB Green in 2025 for $1,500, which would be $250/game. You can get HUB White tickets next year for $141/game. That might not even get you in the lower level for big Mavs games.
  19. We’re moving up conferences. Of course we were going to adjust pricing to be more in line with our new conference mates. Club seats still seem like a good deal for an FBS program, IMO.
  20. Sounds like they are blocking off almost all seats until the renewal deadline. In mid May anyone who put down a deposit will have next pick. After that, season tickets will open up to the general public. I really don’t know why they put out the communication today. Should have waited until all seats were available in a few months, IMO.
  21. There is hardly anything available right now. Like maybe a couple hundred seats. We did not sell that many season tickets last year lol
  22. Of course they tell everyone to go buy/renew season tickets, but don't release any of the seats for sale. Classic UNT!
