  1. The streets in Rome were full of trash and pot holes. Kind of similar to Bonnie Brae lol.
  2. I'm making one of my employees go on my behalf. I told him I expect a full report on my desk Monday morning. Jk, I gave my tickets to one of the guys on my team. He's from the area and also graduated from UNT. Hopefully he enjoys the game with his family.
  3. We ran for 41 yards the week before, but yes it's crazy to think about.
  4. I looked back at our records on Wikipedia and 1913 was the last time we went winless. The staff needs to make adjustments this week. Maybe we need to have a few different looks and add a few wrinkles to our defensive play calling. On offense, we ran the ball more which was nice. They need to make better decisions throwing the ball. The INTs were horrible on those 3 drives in the 2nd quarter. Also, no more fades thrown in the end zone on 4th and goal.
  5. Before you think I am crazy, let me give you a little background. Back in 2009 or 2010 on this board someone would post pictures of that wizard over the pot. I couldn't find the picture, so this is the best that google will do.
  6. My thoughts from this argument over Wren Baker and Hayden Fry.
  7. Thank you! As time allows, I will continue to write these summaries up.
  8. This has been a rough week. Two weeks ago, we were all so excited for football season to get here. The prospects of a new starting QB, head coach/staff, and moving to a new conference had us all drunk on the green kool-aid. Now, I am questioning if we win a conference game, if our next QB is on this roster, and if moving to the 3-3-5 was a mistake. We were more run heavy last night, 56% to 44%. Additionally, we did put up 548 yards of offense. The bad news is that we gave up 514 yards and didn't play complementary football. Observations: Stone Earle made plays last night, but he was also careless with the football. That first touchdown pass to Trey Cleveland was really nice. Then FIU responded with a 3 play, 75 yard touchdown drive. After that drive, I knew we were in for a ball game. Each team turned the ball over via a fumble, and then we got a quick FG. The next series of plays were insane. I don't think I have ever seen 3 drives in a row end due to interceptions. Stone Earle scrambles out of the pocket and gets too much air under his deep pass and it is intercepted by FIU. The very next play, FIU throws an INT to the best Canadian to ever suit up for the Mean Green Jaylen Smith. We get the ball back, and after 2 plays, Stone throws a pick 6. We get the ball back, and 2 plays later Stone throws another INT. The football gods give us a gift, and the play is overturned by a targeting call. If it wasn't for this targeting call, that would have been 3 drives in a row ended by a NORTH TEXAS INT. INSANITY! However, we commit a personal foul and get backed up 15 yards. We fail to convert and NT is forced to punt. Shout out to Noah Rauschenberg, he drilled a 47 and 49 yard field goal. He nailed all 3 extra points and had 7 touchbacks on his kickoffs. If Morris hands out weekly awards, he was this week's MVP. After half time, Morris made a QB change, and put in Chandler Rogers. I was actually encouraged to see that he made an adjustment. Chandler did some good things. He made plays with his legs and arm. I was very encouraged with how fast he was with his reads. Chandler completed 73% of his passes (11 out of 15) for 201 yards, and threw 2 TDs. Additionally, he ran 49 yards and 1 TD. I personally think Chandler should start next week against La Tech. The defense gave up a lot of big plays, and I am not qualified enough to give an honest assessment as to who messed up on the big plays. Logan Wilson was our leading tackler with 8 (6 solo) . Phil Hill had a nice INT and was our 2nd leading tackler this week with 5. Patrick Smith also made a few nice plays in the secondary. Ethan Wesloski recorded our first sack of the season. Both players are redshirt freshman, so that is at least one bright spot for us. Marcus Moore our JUCO transfer DL from The Colony recorded 3 tackles and forced 1 fumble. So it's good to see that a couple of these guys we signed over the last 2 years are contributing positively on defense.
  9. Thanks @TheReal_jayD for the late night venting session. It's been a rough weekend. After sleeping on it, I still do not feel good about where we are headed. We have 4 weeks to clean things up (La Tech, ACU, Navy, and Temple). If the team doesn't adjust, it's going to be a long season.
  10. It's going to be a long season. Drink plenty of electrolytes and water to counteract the booze we're going to consume on Saturdays.
  11. If UTSA was playing Russia St, I would root for communism.
  12. I remember Iowa St did this with Joel Lanning. He was their starting QB for a few seasons and then he switched to LB. Joel had success at LB with 117 tackles his Senior year. The Cowboys signed him as an undrafted FA. While he didn’t make the team, he did have a successful college career. This could be a good move for Jace. He has the athleticism and smarts to play on defense. I applaud the staff for making the move, and Jace stepping up to fulfill a team need. Should I say it shows selflessness, toughness, and discipline? https://cyclones.com/sports/football/roster/coaches/joel-lanning/1595 https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joel_Lanning
  13. It was not me either. However, I did speak to a bank executive a few months ago that had that opportunity. The places a UNT degree will take you.
  14. I see UNT winning 42 to 28. I think we are up most of the game, but in the 4th quarter we give up a few late TDs due to the defense being exhausted.
  15. I saw an exit for it while visiting Family in Northern Ohio. I think it's a D2 school.
  16. I saw a few people complaining to the AD about this tweet. Don't be a Karen, it's only week 1. "I'm offended, I need to speak with the manager."
  17. Not crapping on the kid, but he didn't record any stats his first game. He did show up on the participant list though.
  18. Just an update, he's listed as back up Guard on Duke.
  19. Almost my whole row on the Alumni side were Cal fans. They were very friendly and even brought me a few beers from the concession stand.
  20. Ok, so you think after 1 game against an improved Cal team that Morris is going to be Benford. That's a wild take, but yeah we did technically have a pretty balanced approach this past week. We had 27 run plays vs 26 pass plays. I do agree that we should have maybe tried to run the ball more. However, it wasn't very effective against the Cal defense. The first week is over, it's time to bury the tape (nvm I'm old it's all digital now) and move on. We're On to MIAMI!
