Regarding rushing yards last year, Rogers had 145 carries, 353 yards, and 5 TDs. Passing, he was 216-319 (67% completion rate) 2,403 yards 15 TDs and 7 INT. So he averaged 18-27 200 yards passing and 12 carries for 29 yards a game rushing. The good news is that he never threw more than 1 INT in a game. He played on a bad ULM team. They only won 4 games. I wonder how he would have done behind our line last year and with our offensive weapons. Well the good news is outside of the 2 TEs and Shorter, we are returning most of the offense. So whoever takes over, they will have a capable OL, workhorse RBs, and a talented WR group. The future is bright or I'm just drunk on preseason green kool-aid.

I am very interested to see how this plays out. My guess was Rogers based on his time at ULM. However, Morris and Brophy have a vision for the offense. It sounds like Earle is moving the chains in practice with every group. In the event the named starter struggles against Cal,our schedule is back loaded. So we will have a few weeks in the schedule (La Tech, FIU, and ACU) to work out some of the kinks.

The team was selfless, tough, disciplined and gave tremendous effort. JD was driving around the practice field with binoculars to get the GMG.COM scoop for all of us. So they decided to move the scrimmage inside and blackout our media coverage. On a serious note, I hope Morris gives an update to the people that attend the event tonight. So far I haven't seen anything on Twitter from the usual media folks.

I can't make it tonight, but I did enjoy the Frisco one a few months ago.

Yes, I would definitely buy that. It's nice hearing from Coach Morris. He gave some good updates. I'm sure I missed a few things. Stone Earle has been playing well. No deadline for announcing a starting QB (different from what he told Smoaky a few weeks ago). Christian Lee has really bought in and put on extra weight. X is a good blocker, and Josh Smith the Juco TE is still learning the playbook. The 5 freshman DBs have been playing well and getting reps with the 1s and 2s.

I was underwhelmed with this hire. This would be like UNT hiring Jason Witten from Argyle Liberty Christian as HC, bringing along his high school DC, and plucking away GAs/Offensive/Defensive analysts from P5 schools. That's pretty much the mixture of the UAB staff. UAB has been a pretty solid program these last few years. I could be wrong, but I expect them to drop off a little bit. Hell people could say the same thing about us, but on paper I'm not impressed with UAB.
