I'll probably be put on blast for this but have you seen the QB position? We have a shortstop as our starter. I'm no expert but his best throws are when he throws like a shortstop, examples - throw to Brown at end of UTEP game, and the pass to Lyles in the FIU game. Watch those throws and he looks like a baseball player and extremely accurate with them. Dude has 6 years of baseball mechanics to change. That is a lot of coaching up. All that is probably why Ruder started the year as the No. 1 but he couldn't get it together. And of course this all on the staff, just pointing it out.

it's too bad that they can't let humans make decisions. The rule to protect a players safety is great. However, in this case it wasn't to do that, he just didn't want to lose yards. Let the refs make that determination and call it a safety.

He lost a lot of his early staff and didn't replace that well. Coaching matters as much talent.

I mean we went from Harrell to what coaching them? This is most likely where the problem lies.

Unfortunately it seems he isn't a good fit as a head coach. It seems obvious that the success he had early was about his assistant coaches. Once he lost most of that first staff things have gone the wrong direction. He should have been either able to get good replacements or make up the difference himself, but has not been able to. Some other program will get the benefits of the lessons he's learned, but a new direction is needed.
