UNT lands twin Lobo transfers

And we mean twins in the literal, brotherly sense.

While the school has yet to announce the additions, Rashad and Vershad Jackson confirmed to the Denton Chronicle that they both have decided to transfer to North Texas to continue their playing careers. The twin brothers are transferring into the Mean Green football program from New Mexico by way of Blinn College.

The impetus for the decision appears to be a desire on the part of the Texas natives to return closer to home.

2 questions:

1. Will they be coming in on scholarship?

2. Did they play at Blinn?

It doesn't appear so. If they in fact didn't, they may be eligible able to play this year as redshirt sophomores. Although if Jordan Richmond has to sit out, they may also have to as well.

If they're coming in on scholarship, we may have as many as 8 spots in the 2015 class filled up. Between Jordan Richmond (DE/LB), Sam Rice (OL), Blake Bean (LB), Rashad and Vershad Jackson (DBs), as well as grayshirts Shaq Jackson (DT), Jon Graham (DL), and Caleb Chumley (QB). Not 100% sure if Bean or Rice are coming in on scholarship. Also, Dan Kottman has been reported by Vito as walking on.

I see no way that Sam rice isn't given a scholarship.

What about Chad Reese of Tyler? (Wyoming transfer)

Has he changed his mind? Is he not at spring practice because he didn't get a scholarship offer and would have to pay his way? It appears that he could contribute with his final year of eligibility in 2015.

Not sure. I don't think he was going to be here for this semester. Thought he was planning on walking on in the fall.

That article, and tweet, is from late January. Which was after the start of the semester. May have just decided to wait to enroll until fall.
