When is the 2008-2009 men's basketball schedule going to be released?

In: Miscellaneous College Basketball

[Edit]

There is no easy answer to this question as there is no specific time table for colleges to release their basketball schedules. Typically they will begin to be released by a handful of schools in June (some may even be announced as early as May). Most will officially announce before the start of school in late August and early September. It is also likely some schools will release with pending "open dates" (usually tournaments or attempts to wait out "buy games") that sometimes have not been announced by some schools until the last couple weeks before practices can start in October.

The reasons for the disparities are some schools may enter a season with their non-conference slate already set due to multi-year contracts with other schools, tournament arrangements, conference schedules, date conflicts, buy-game demands, and facility conflicts for previously contracted games to name just a few.

As of July 1, 2008 South Alabama, Navy, and California (among others) have announced their complete schedules, while for instance Texas Tech and Utah have announced the non-conference portion of their schedules.

Well, not a final schedule with the one TBD's still on there. Guess they have to wait on Coaches vs Cancer to put out the final brackets.

I had just got something in the mail last week and UCLA didn't have a finalized schedule. How I got on their mailing list, I have no idea.
