On the Football attendence, the schools that are out in the middle of no where

have the best fan attendence. No competition from "pro" sports. Only thing in

town to go to on a Saturday. This fact really helps attendence in these areas.

People from miles around go the games. What else is there to do?

Look at the 3 old SWC schools- Houston, Rice, SMU--right in the middle of

major metro areas that have pro sports. I am surprised that Houston,

with all of their success does not pack their house. Too much entertainment competition.

Middle of the pack, UAB, that plays at Legion Field in B'ham ( a copy of

the Fair Park-Dallas area) draws 23000 avg for football crazy Alabama.

I can see NT breaking attendence records this year! I would like for

NT to avg about 25000 plus for every home game this year!

Better yet, 32,000 for each game! SRO's-- Give Coach Dodge some

time, start winning, and the fans will come!

I agree. The most important factors in building a fan base are the number of competitors for the sports $$ in a given area relative to the number of people in that area, the conference you're in, and how good your teams are over a period of time. Edited by GreenEddieNT

And I can guaran-damn-tee you that Memphis did not average 32k butts in seats during their pathetic football year. My bro graduated from there, and says the attendance for football was paltry, unless they play the Vawls, when half the stadium is orange.
