Mr. Deon Hunter

Had a great time with one of the best guards we had in the 80's at New Orleans, Mr. Deon Hunter. In talks with him he said that he couldn't believe the crowd we had the night before the game celebrating our basketball team. Most everyone, like Hank & George got pictures with him.

The big thing for us is that he told me (when I let him borrow my ticket to get close to the court) that he is back. He wants to help anyway he could. For all you that know him, my thoughts are that he could be a mentor with Sturns & straighten him out before his senior year.

What do you think?

One of the highlights of the day for me was getting to talk to him again and taking pictures before the game. I asked him what it would take for him to come back and teach full court press breaking? I hope we see a lot more of him. I'll never forget Rob "The Voice" Coffee bellowing out that trademark....Deeeeeeeeeon Hunter foooooorrrrr threeeeeeeee! everyone time DH hit one from downtown.

I'm not totally sold that Sturns can ever be anything but Sturns. He is a free spirit that plays best when he doesn't have to think; just let his talent take over. There's been a NTHOF coach who has tried to talk to him and that didn't seem to work. I do think though that if anyone can help him it would likely be Neon. They have more in common and I'd sure like to see it tried.
