Duncanville Rb Vernon Frazier

I hadn't heard about this RB from Duncanville...Vernon Frazier. He's 5' 6", 152.....and is the 92nd rated player on the DMN Area 100.

It shows him today as having committed to North Texas.

Is that right????

If so, anyone know anything about him?

VERY VERY VERY FAST. SPEED, SPEED, SPEED. That should tell you a lot. He runs a legit 4.4 time, not like all the other recruits,he can actually run this time. He is committed to UTEP, if UNT were to get him it would really boost up their class. He can contribute instantly.

Well, tell the people at the Dallas Morning News to check their facts then because he shows to be a commit to North Texas.

That commitment to UTEP came way back in July....so I could definitely see the kid changing his mind. (that was in the pre-TD days at UNT, for one thing).

Secondly, I hope the guy is 5 ' 6". I love those little scat back types. We have had some great small RBs in the past (Malcolm Jones was maybe 5' 7"....Carlen Charleston was only 5 5".

In 1980 Malcom Jones (listed as 5'6" X 150 in the 1978 press guide), gained 1144 yards. Malcom Jones was the third back in NT History to gain 1000 yards.

In the 2005 press guide Carlen Charleston ( who was all of 5'5" X 155 lbs) was listed as tied for the #7 position in career all-purpose yards with 2997 total yrds.

Also, as I recall.....Malcolm held our record (for many years), for most rushing yards in a game. I think it was 207. If I'm not mistaken, I think that record was first broken by Cedric Cromer in 1995 (versus Idaho State). I think that record is now held by J-Mo....but I may be wrong.

Anyway, Malcom was great. Sadly, he died young, working on an oil rig (as I recall).
