With Todd's hiring, I bet that reflective SMU and TCU fans have not had a bowel movement in 4 days. They realize that someone is about to crash their party. Awakening of the NT fan base could be a real nightmare for the Highland Park High east and Paschall High west programs.

Towe played for North Carolina, not North Carolina State. He played against us in the 1988 NCAA first round in Salt Lake City.

Besides athletes and coaching, it takes someone who works hard. Someone who gives a damn and is always thinking of ways to beat the opponent. We have that guy now, so let's hang on for a great two or three years.

All the press generated by Todd's hiring should wake up the administration to go all the way or go home. Had we hired some assistant from a big program it would not have had the impact of this hire. Give the people what they want, and go with the hottest item you can find. Now, maybe basketball is next for some sizzle, at least on the women's side.

I am amused by the comments that our kids are here because they don't have the grades to get into TCU. TCU is a glorified high school and I'll be that our kid's grades match up quite nicely with the 'student athletes' at TCU. TCU has at least done a respectable job of capturing the Fort Worth fan base. SMU will never approach TCU or UNT in tapping into their potential fan base. The average Dallasite does not relate to or care about SMU.

I knew Craig Miller as a student...he is a very unhappy person.....he was negative about most things then and has not gotten any better. Just take his comments for what they are worth, which is not much.

Don't write off UALR yet....they beat Minnesota a few days ago.

Home attendance will be detemined by two factors. One, how badly did we get man handled by OU and secondly who are we playing. Even if OU kills us and the first home game is a lame opponent, I still look for 20,000.

the mission of the mgc is to promote and fund athletics, the mission of the exes is to promote the entire university and unite exes with each other through gatherings and meetings, etc. I suggest that you do both...a strong alumni assn. is good for any university.

This is not just some ordinary high school coach...this is a high school coach who probably could have beaten NT this year with his Dragons. In addition, he is a really fine person. I am honored to know him and I know he will do things in a classy way and bring wins and honor to ole NT.

If Villareal has made an informal update on the hire to the board, I don't think it will take long for the leak to happen.

I think that we could raise enough money to name a toilet after Flanigan somewhere in the athletic complex.

I think that we might actually split with Western Ky this year. They will win at home and we will win in Denton. We have come close to beating them in Denton with less talent than what we have now. It will be tough to beat them in Owensboro, but who knows.

The new coach will keep no more than two off this year's staff. He has commitments to some of his own buddies who want to make the rise up from high school ball. I am assuming that it is 'Dodge Ball' for 2007.

A significant win for NT. Anytime you go to those backwater towns with crackerbox gyms bad things can happen. I shutter every time we have to go to Louisiana for anything.

Calendars are done by the North Texas Exes for their membership. If you are a member of the Exes you should get the 2007 calendar in the next few days.

So what is your point? NT has been cannon fodder for other winning programs in the past and little was ever differentiated with respect to our record back then. At the end of the season our victims will just be part of the mosaic of our season....hopefully a winning season.

How ironic that we are ranked ahead of George Mason.

I did not realize that the Mean Green of the University of North Texas was located in Mississippi. Let the Mississippians decide.

Appropriate attire for this year's team....it will be a long dark season.
