Very interesting how you researched all aspects of the one dimentional flying worm. I did some art for the marching band years and years ago, but I fudged a bit and turned the bird a bit, so as to give the bird a second wing...you may have seen the art, as someone who posts on gomeangreen uses it as an avatar. It is the flying worm wearing a band hat and beating a bass drum.

Thanks to Brian for hosting a good event. He estimated that there were about 125 people who came by over the course of the afternoon. The Exes sold 38 Sink Navy shirts and got 5 new members, so it was good for everyone. I think that the Exes plan to put some of the pics on the Exes website. Also, there are rumors that a basketball t-shirt is coming in November.

For $750,000 why don't they just pay 75,000 people to come to their games? They are used to paying players, why not fans?

Are you licensed with UNT and SMU? If not, forget the shirts. You cannot sell shirts using UNT images if they are not licensed. You might show them to the athletic department and you might get a waiver, but I doubt it. Also, the SMU Mustang art is licensed and I doubt that SMU will ever OK its use for your particular shirt.

I was over at the stadium this morning and there is new blacktop underneath both sides of the stadium and the bathrooms are being gutted. There are a lot of nasty old fixtures sitting around, as well as the walls between the toilets. Man, are those fixtures rusty and ugly. More lipstick on the pig, but at least it will be a lot nicer for this season.

Anyone have an update on how Johnny Quinn is doing since he was cut by Buffalo? Any other teams interested?

Just two things amid the madness that you people are displaying. One, the membership of the Exes is around 5.000 and SECONDLY the athletic department HAS NEVER REQUESTED the use of the Exes logo for athletic department items, helmets, etc. Probably what needs to happen, since there is so much turmoil over this, is for a group of you people to present your views to Dr. Batille and to Rick Villareal. Batille was not here for the new 'branding' and might just agree with you all that the the interlocking NT needs to be used by the entire university.

I heard Todd make the comment that he does not believe in quarterback by committee, so I bet he names a starter going to Norman.

I've said all along that people gravitate to excellence. Once the university started acting like a division one program, we are beginning to attract money. The sky is the limit with our alumni base. I look for more large donations in the near future. People want to get involved if they know that the university is serious.

Seems we have trouble getting rid of the North Texas State with some sportswriters, but it could be worse....many of them just have to refer to 'cheatin or death penalty when talking about SMWho.

This was an event planned by and for the Denton County Exes. We attempted for it to be 'inclusive, not exclusive.' In our market, which is primarily Denton, the 6pm start appeals to local residents. If 8pm appeals to the other constituencies of the Exes, have at it at 8pm or whenever, but do it for your local people in south Denton or Dallas or Ft.Worth or whereever you have the drive and resources. We intentionally opened it up to guests who wanted to come from anywhere that there was interest in the Exes and the Mean Green. I look forward to hearing about your local mixer and will try to make it, if invited, and if the time works for me. The highlight of the evening to me was giving Johnny Quinn a 'Sink Navy' t-shirt that he will proudly wear at Bills training camp.
