Nuggets sign Marcus!

DENVER (AP) - The Denver Nuggets signed rookie free agent center Chris Marcus on Thursday, expressing confidence in his future despite injuries.

Terms were not released.

The 7-foot-1 Marcus averaged 14.1 points, 10.1 rebounds and 2.71 blocks in 79 games at Western Kentucky. Foot injuries limited him to 19 games over his final two seasons.

“Chris has experienced some setbacks with injuries, but he has worked very hard to earn this opportunity,” Nuggets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe said. “We feel he has a very bright future.”
