POST SEASON HONORS - MEAN GREEN SOFTBALL

Future MEAN GREEN softball pitchers, Mandy Hacker and Sanger native Amber Wood were selected to the NJCAA Region XIV All-Region Teams.

Mandy was selected to the NJCAA Region XIV First Team leading Blinn Junior College to a 49-10 overall season record, a NJCAA Region Championship, and a berth in the NJCAA National Tournament to be held in Florida on May 16-18th.

Mandy finished the season with a Region XIV impressive record of 26-2. She had an ERA of 0.73 in 182.2 inning pitched. In addition, Hacker had an impressive offensive season batting over .300 with 41 rbi's

Mandy has also been nominated for the NJCAA All-American team. Results should be posted at the end of May.

Amber Wood, a Sanger native and future player was selected to the NJCAA Region XIV Second-Team. Wood help lead Navarro College to their 5th consecutive NJCAA Region XIV East Zone Championship, and a Runner-Up to the NJCAA Regional XIV Championship. Wood, had a 16-3 record with a 0.96 ERA.

I've been watching results of SBC softball teams on the SBC message board. It seems ULL won the SBC title and FIU was runner up, both were selected for the NCAA tourney. It mentioned the SBC did not have an automatic bid yet, will that change for next year? Also, I saw where ULL's record was like 43-8, will they be the team to beat next season too?

yes- ULL will be the team to beat next season in the SBC. I think no matter how many seniors they will lose, the Ragin Cajuns will be considered Champions until someone can take the title away from them. They have won the conference and tournament the last 4 seasons. They have also remained in the NCAA Top 25.

It's hard to believe that the fall season is less than 3-4 months away!

CMJ - the only way to learn how to win, is to hate to lose!!! I've recruited ALL athletes who know how to do anything, but lose... They have all played for winning programs. They now have NO EXCUSES!!
