Player of the Year - Tyren Johnson, ULL

Newcomer of the Year - Tim Williams, USA

Freshman of the Year - Brandon Reed, ASU

Defensive Player of the Year - Brett Royster, FAU

First Team -

Tyren Johnson, ULL

George Odufuwa, UNT

Steffphon Pettigrew, WKU

A.J. Slaughter, WKU

Brandon Hazzard, Troy

- I think Johnson, Odufuwa and Slaughter are no-brainers...Reed is certainly in first team discussion, but I gave the nod to the conference "champ"'s best player in Hazzard and Pettigrew for his complete game and really stepping his game up while Kerusch was out for WKU.

Second Team -

Nate Rohnert, UD

Brandon Reed, ASU

Tim Williams, USA

Greg Gantt, FAU

Raymond Taylor, FAU

- I'm sure I'll take heat for no Josh White here, but I bumped Taylor up over him for one major statistical reason, assist to turnover ratio...both average 3.0 TO/game...White is at 3.6apg, Taylor is at 6.0apg...and White closing with an 8 turnover game doesn't help.

Third Team -

Josh White, UNT

Tristan Thompson, UNT

Michael Vogler, Troy

Marvin Roberts, FIU

Desmond Yates, MTSU

- The only other name to have been considered was Montarrio Haddock of MTSU...but I can't see who could get bumped.

Newcomer Team -

Tim Williams, USA

Marvin Roberts, FIU

Soloman Bozeman, UALR

Yamene Coleman, Troy

Martavious Adams, ASU

Freshman Team -

Brandon Reed, ASU

Greg Gantt, FAU

Raymond Taylor, FAU

Martino Brock, USA

Carl Blair, UNO

-Dear Carl Blair, If J'Misson decides he wants to stay at UCLA, we here at North Texas would still have a scholarship available for a strong-bodied point guard who rebounds well and can knock down the occasional 3. Think about it.

Defensive Team -

Brett Royster, FAU

Tyren Johnson, ULL

Michael Vogler, Troy

Brandon Peterson, ASU

Jeremy Evans, WKU
