seems like when we are favored every now and then things don't turn out so great. I'm pretty surprised we aren't the favorite.

i like that we arent favored.

If Wilson and Jamario play together like they did on the first drive of the second half against, we will score some points, we will move the ball all day.

Our defense played as good as could be expected given the fact 14 of those points came off of short field turnovers and the offense gave them no help with constant 3 and outs. The fact UT's average start was on their own 45 didnt do them any favors. Take that with some heat and overmatched line play depth and you have all the makings of a blowout.

SMU doenst have near the speed of UT's defense. Their offense managed 3 points and a few turnovers against a middle of the road defense in Lubbock.

This SHOULD be a closely matched game.

Your right, this spread (-5) is accurate! The books cannot make us a favorite becasue we have not showed we can play yet. SMU finished last season on a positive note and showed positive signs. We showed nothing all year. Plus, you cannot judge anything from our first game against UT. They were just better! I do think this will be a close game and if we do not make any mistakes (turnovers) we should have a chance to come out on top. We jsut need to feed the ball to J_MO becasue SMU has a weak run defense. Once we catch them off guard we can hit Quinn deep for a score!!!!

Plus, if they do stack 8-9 in the box, Wilson ought to be able to kill them on a play-action roll-out, either with his feet or a pass to Quinn, Jackson or Muzzy.

2 other things...1st play of the game ut bit on play action...it can work if we can get a few big runs early on. Other thing, we had Joel open on those deep patterns and almost made some big plays...I think we have a better shot at getting some deep passes this year and not just lucky jump balls.
