GMG-III Bowl Location Change

Hi guys,

I just got an email from Keith in the Athletic Department and he has secured the very same practice field where we played the last two flag games. We still play on the 8th, so no change in the timeline. Something must have come up that we could not use the AC practice fields, but we are all familiar with the field we now have. For those who are playing in their first GMG Bowl, this is the practice field where we do the tailgating and MeanGreen Walk. (escort the players to the stadium).

Sorry for the second change in venue, but the Athletic Department is working well with us to help keep this game on the scheduled date. I really dont care where we play as long as we get to play on a date that works for everyone. If there are any concerns please let me know. Just over three weeks until gametime. We will have a great time and it's for a very noble cause.

Remember, this is the ONLY MeanGreen football we get until August, so everyone come out...even if you arent playing.

GMG!!!

FYI: Race for the Cure is for the Susan G Koman Foundation. Relay for Life is for the American Cancer Society. Denton doesn't have a Race for the Cure (closest cities are Ft Worth, Dallas and Plano). Last year the Denton Relay for Life raised over well over $100,000 and might have raised as much as $150,000 if memory serves me correctly. Relay for Life has been in Denton for over 10 years now (this is the 11th year).

Denton Relay for Life is scheduled to use Fouts Field that day. You should stop by after the game is over.

Medpilot: is there enough room to land the helo to take me to the hospital for my very minor non-life threatening jammed thumb?  blink.gif  wink.gif

I can always fake passing out from the pain if it helps any.  laugh.gif

One way to get a ride, huh? I've landed in some pretty funny places in the past. I set down once in a trailer park in Farmer's Branch. I landed on the main road that goes right down the middle of the trailer homes. We reduce the throttle and have no pitch in the rotors to prevent damaging other peoples property , but the wind from landing was like a small hurricane. I had no idea rotor-wash would shake trailers like that? The Police officer that came over to my window was laughing and yelled.. "If it's not the damn tornados, it's one of you guys. These red-necks will never find their lawn chairs?..

I laughed big time at that one...

GMG!!! biggrin.gif
