Charlie Partridge set to face ‘someone I revere’

First-year FAU coach Charlie Partridge has worked under some well-respected head coaches including Bret Bielema at both Wisconsin and Arkansas and former Dolphins coach Dave Wannstedt at Pitt. But there would seem to be no one he holds in higher regard than the man he’ll face this week, North Texas coach Dan McCarney.

“Coach McCarney is someone I revere,” Partridge said this week as he prepared to take the Owls to Denton, Texas Saturday for a 7 p.m. start.

“I can’t say enough how much he means to me. His energy, his passion, what he demanded out of me at a young age in a large part shaped what I have become.”
