  1. (In Ted Knight as Judge Smeltz from "Caddy Shack" voice) "Well...............We're waiting."
  2. I've sat through almost 2 seasons watching the fireworks show after a losing game. We win this past Saturday, and no fireworks. I don't care personally. I've never been a big fireworks fan, but it does seem odd that we shoot Roman Candles and rockets after a loss, and nothing after a win. good win Saturday. Now let's beat the warhawks with a big crowd this next Saturday. GO MEAN GREEN
  3. Having never tried kicking off, I wonder why the ball can't be more frequently kicked deep into the end zone. Is Knott not (he he) able to kick it that far ? We've had kickers in the past that always could end the return threat by kicking deep into the endzone. I'm glad for the win. However, our kickoff coverage was horrible. We stopped WKU once at the 23 and the rest of the day, we didn't stop then until well past the 50. GO MEAN GREEN
  4. I got mine today (Friday). They're in a little booklet. Four or five per page. Good pictures. The best looking ticket package I've ever seen. GO MEAN GREEN
  5. Any word on anything spoken at the hearing ? Was there someone there to speak for or against ? Did the members "high five" each other when the motion passed ? Anything ? GO MEAN GREEN
  6. S T Y L I Z E D --- E A G L E At least according to it's creator.
  7. Ken 14....Where do you live ?
  8. I don't know who "Romo" is since this is a North Texas Football board. But I do think Riley Dodge knows the bill of a baseball cap goes in the front. GO MEAN GREEN
  9. I hadn't thought of it until this post. I hate to go to an NT game and see someone wearing something from a school not even on the field. If you go to a TCU game I think one should have the respect to wear TCU (or SMU) colors, or just wear something neutral. I see guys at our games wearing stuff from Texas or OU. Bad form. In my humble opinion. GO MEAN GREEN
  10. No name on the back. What a wonderful idea. GO MEAN GREEN
  11. Well yeah. It came from my avatar. GO MEAN GREEN Hmmmm...Looking again, this is Joe arms up. Mine is Joe arms down. I don't know where it came from.
  12. Interesting that is is behind the Green Machine. They'll be behind something else Green all day Saturday. But it's fun that someone even cares. No harm...no foul. GO MEAN GREEN
  13. What are the rules here ? Can we introduce ourselves to these recruits ? Ask them their names ? Talk ugly about Middle tennessee ?
  14. Curious...If it's not televised, how are the officials able to review a questionable call ? Are all games televised or at least recorded ? I'm not talking about game film. I'm talking about two guys in the pressbox wearing sport coats and ties. Or do the officials look at the video that will later be refered to as "game film ?" GO MEAN GREEN
  15. If I live to be a million, I'll never forget the 40 or so yard run by this freshman with an unusual name. The Colorado fans were silent. The North Texas fans went wild. JaMario was the talk of the bar at the Bolderado Hotel after the game. Many of you will remember trying to get the Green Brigade to learn the "Super Mario" theme song. My son even set up a "SM" desk top for me so I could listen to the song whenever. GO JaMario GO MEAN GREEN
  16. The MUTS are really cranked up. Go to MTSU.RIVALS ( or something like that) and look at the topic "Harmon report." I invited them to come for the hospitality and stay for the upset. Whew. You'd have thought I was talking bad about their English Department or something. GO MEAN GREEN
  17. Stockstill: "...roll our hat out there and expect to win." What in the world does that mean ?
  18. Did you notice that SMU, listed at # 100, has a 1-1 record. Did the game against SFA not count in rankings since SFA is 1-AA ?
  19. Anita Bryant is still a big deal along the southeastern part of the US. What I don't understand is why those chimes are names after Denny's. Although, sometimes, I like a Grand Slam breakfast right after a football game. GO MEAN GREEN
  20. The "Texas" cheerleaders need to give the "alumni" side a bit of warning. Sometimes, people are actually watching the game and don't notice when the "student" side does something. If the Alumni side cheerleaders were to say something like, "OK We're going to do the North Texas chant." Give the signal to the student side and off we'd go. Rick is right. It needs to have a specific end. Such as "Mean Green" and from the other side "Fight, fight, fight" or similar. And speaking of cheerleaders, I find the throwing of little balls and t-shirts to be a distraction. Do it before the game or before the teams come back on the field after halftime. I'm trying to watch the game and people are risking life and limb to catch a 50cent ball or $2 t-shirt.
  21. That's an interesting photo of Abner Haynes. The old Dallas Texans's colors were red and white. Has Abner been a victim of Photo shop. or is that a college era photo used by the Texans before they had a photo op with Abner ? Oh...I like the green pants. "Singing Glory to the Green" GO MEAN GREEN
  22. The stand up-sit down thing is a problem. Just for fun... If you brought your Mom and/or Dad to the game, and their seats were directly behind your seats, would you stand the entire game. If they complained, would you ask them to move to some crappy seats ? If you brought your new girlfriend to the game, and the only seat available was behind you, would you stand for the entire game ? Would you ask her to move somewhere else ? I stand for much of the game myself. And when Tim Crouch says. "THIIIIIRRRRDDDDD DOWN...." I stand up. Isn't that what we're supposed to do ? "That's good for another Mean Green 'First Down.'" Can that even be done sitting ? It seems to me, it's kinda a seat-of-the-pants thing. We stand on big plays. But every play could be a big play. So when shuld we sit ? Or stand ? GO MEAN GREEN
