Is CUSA or some other conference calling and RV is just not taking their call ? I think that evry day when Rick gets up, he is thinking about something to make NOrth Texas Athletics better. The notion that he is content about any aspect of our program is just wrong headed. And as far as the Sun Belt Conference, the SBC provided us with our only bowl bids (4 that is) since the 1950s. As far as I can see, the only other thing we caould do at this point is to become a D-1 Independent. Have zero bowl ties and have a difficult time with scheduling after the third or fourth week of the season. And one more thing....We're not very good in football right now. North Texas has a ton to offer, but football powers most athletic departments. Again, I don't think we're getting a lot of calls because of our football program. I hope that changes soon. Cheer for the Sun Belt. Hope they crush southern Mississippi. As the Sun Belt gets stronger, North Texas gets stronger. If we can keep up. Being number one in the Sun Belt may not impress you. But being last in the Sun Belt means the dapartment, coaches, and fans (this means season tickets and contributions to the Mean Green Club) have to get better. And the phone is still not ringing. OK....so if someone had a great deal on some retail space, and wanted to open a pure North Texas Spirit store in Denton, would it work ? And I mean gear like a real university has...T shirts and sweatshirts, and caps and jackets, and panchos, and and all NT branded. Would it work ? And when I say work, I mean pay the rent, light bill, and earn enough money to make it viable ?

You're kidding. These guys have one sweat shirt (and it's hooded. handy for robbing a 7-11). One men's polo. Two caps and a cap washer. There is almost no choice of NT gear anywhere. I can get a better TCU,, ARKANSAS or Texas A & M selection at Albertson's.

It was announced earlier this morning that North Texas had extended the contract with Solan Waterless Urinals. Terms were not disclosed, but the deal runs through the 2010 football season.

Why are we playing this team ? Why are we playing this team at noon on a weekday ? Do we expect any support (cheerleaders, dancers, band, university president, athletic director) people to be in attendance ? Is this a home and home ? Do we have to go to Hobbs, NM next year on a Wednesday noon ?

I'm sure there is a good explanation, but it seems odd the Dr. Batille would be "out of the country" at this crucial time. I assume this trip was planned months ago.

If we are hiring a new head coach, hire Fran. And then hope he is so successful that he gets hired away by a bigger program. And that he leaves a "patterson" here.

HELP ME I have never understood why during this era, when NT is trailing with very little time left in the first half, we are content to down the ball instead of trying something--anything. Throw the ball as far as possible and hope that one of the good guys gets under it and runs it into the end zone. But we would rather insure going into the locker room trailing by 20. I just don't get it.

I've sat through almost 2 seasons watching the fireworks show after a losing game. We win this past Saturday, and no fireworks. I don't care personally. I've never been a big fireworks fan, but it does seem odd that we shoot Roman Candles and rockets after a loss, and nothing after a win. good win Saturday. Having never tried kicking off, I wonder why the ball can't be more frequently kicked deep into the end zone. Is Knott not (he he) able to kick it that far ? We've had kickers in the past that always could end the return threat by kicking deep into the endzone. I'm glad for the win. However, our kickoff coverage was horrible. We stopped WKU once at the 23 and the rest of the day, we didn't stop then until well past the 50. GO MEAN GREEN
