  1. The Walgreen's at University @ N. Elm in Denton has a ton of t-shirts and hooded sweatshirts. They have hooded sweatshirts in green, grey, white, black, and pink. TWU stuff as well. But what's the deal with the lack of non-hooded sweatshirts ? Nobody sems to have them. Not the bookstore, Voertman's, the gear booths at the games, nobody. All I want is a plain, high quailty sweatshirt. Has anybody seen a non-hooded sweatshirt ?
  2. Didn't former NT QB Jordan Case spend several years with Saskatchewan ?
  3. Travis, are you thinking of James Battle ? Battle was playing behind Printers at TCU and transfered to SFA. I don't know that he (Battle) ever saw the field.
  4. The next time you go to the Super Pit, look up at the PA speaker cluster in the center of the building. There, you will see the old NT logo. I'm pleased that Yahoo finally got it right. But it's hard to expect others to get it right, when our own University can't get the logo right after, what, 4 or 5 years of notice. Who is in charge of that bus ?
  5. Interstate Battery Stadium sounds better than both.
  6. It seems to me that whenever a team loses it's starting (Position) , there should be cause for concern. Vizza was good enough to be given a scholarship, and good enough to displace another starter for appx 18 straight games. He's the best, or was, the best QB we had, of all I've seen. Here's a guy that is the #5 all time passer at NT with, or so we thought, 2 more years to go. It's a big loss. I had the same sick feeling this morning when I saw the newspaper that I had when I heard Hayden Fry was leaving.
  7. I understand both these women are North Texas alums
  8. I wonder if there is some confusion about the attendance numbers ? The box score says 1200 or so at the Women's game. I didn't see it but I think there were more than 2700 at the Men's game. The Students are really missed when they aren't there. Hurry back Pit Crew. PS There was a nice tribute to local Ford dealer Bill Utter , Sr. before the game. A good man and consistent sponsor of Mean Green Athletics.
  9. I'm always anxious to see what sort of endowment SUMG uses as his avatar. But seriously folks...Right or wrong, I think our endowments reflect the success or lack of success our football team has on the field. I've got no data to back this, but I bet when NT wins, the endowment goes up. As for you, SUMG, continue with your search for endowment.
  10. Now could someone get the logo changed on the "Regal Eagle " ? Who's in charge of the bus (coach) as a matter of fact ?
  11. Well, I don't think so. But at the time, Texas Stadium was SMU's home field. And, they were in the Big...er... Southwest Conference, so attendance was not an issure for them.
  12. VideoEagle in right on the mark. I was at the meeting held in the visitor's dressing room at Fouts. Fred Pole conducted the meeting and we didn't have an option. Stadium size was considered, but the attendance numbers were what zapped NT. When we tried to get back to "1-A" the Chamber of Commerce as well as the University really got behind the attendance thing. I still have the button (bumper stickers were also printed). I recall we played Oklahoma State in the Cotton Bowl. We were the home team and there was a country and western (both kinds) show after the game. There was another game heavily promoted that year. Posters were handed out by the players around town and the posters featured the "stars" that would be performing after the 2 games.
  13. "I know I'm a general in the Continental Army. However, I've been a fan of the British since I was a kid." - Benedict Arnold The above quote is all you need to know about new frog fan. There's plenty like him. I hope he's happy at TCU.. And by the way, the women at NT are legendary. Check out how many Miss Texas winners have come from NT. Oh, and 2 Miss Americas
  14. Our next opponent is Middle Tennessee this afternoon (4:00) at the Super Pit. After our loss to UTA, we'd better not look foward to anybody.
  15. I was really impressed with the attendance. And a full pep band, cheerleaders., and dancers. A game like this should be held every year. And TCU and SMU should be in the metroplex mix. And did anyone see the free throw stats ? 92% in the first and 87% in the second. I don't remember any NT team hitting that kind of FT. I don't see how UTA had a 5 game skid. They were very fast. We'll get Middle.
  16. There plus my old NT room mate (although he graduated from UTA ) GO MEAN GREEN
  17. Thanks Green P. Well, I was wrong about the arms/wings and legs folded. But I was correct about the look in his eyes.
  18. Does anyone remember the old Scrappy ? I've seen it on a decal, ball cap, and sweatshirt, but not in a long time. This was the Scrappy wearing a North Texas shirt (I think I'm right) with arms (wings ?) and legs crossed with a "I'm gonna get you sucka" look on his face. I'd appreciate anyone posting old Scrappy here. GO MEAN GREEN
  19. Just put "GREEN MACHINE" on everyone's back (Longest Yard reference).
  20. 8-2 team I was impressed by the attendance figure in the box score. 3,100 plus. A lot of fans still hanging aroung La La over the break. GO MEAN GREEN
  21. LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design). I'm always forgetting what the initials stand for. There is a professional building in Denton (corner of Scripture @ Bonnie Brae) that has replaced some of their paving with this grass/pavement system. I noticed it earlier this month and it didn't look like grass nor did it look like concrete. I would think more maintance than pavement and less than grass (gravement ?) I'm not sure the LEED thing is done to save money so much aa it's to save the earth. (ie; those curley light bulbs and Sloan waterless urinals) And has there been any duscussion/decision as to a grass or artificial playing surface ? GO MEAN GREEN
