  1. At the Dallas County Alumni event. Also said he may be calling on some of those in the room last night to play in the homecoming game. That got a few chuckles. I think he's already hearing it from alums.
  2. Smatresk said last night that he was working to make the bonfire happen. He sounded confident he would get it done.
  3. So you're saying when you recruit at about 110 level every year you get about 110 level results?
  4. I've been following since 1983 and I never recall it being this bad. I am pleased to see the overwhelming displeasure at our current state. I am glad we have stripped away the excuses (stadium, facilities, salaries, etc.) and I have hope for the first time ever that the BOR, Prez, etc. will have to improve the state of affairs.
  5. I'm flipping between that game and UNC vs Delaware. Delaware is competitive.
  6. Your facts are a little off there Drex.
  7. I've been a fan since my Freshman year - 1983. The year Corky kicked the tail light on the ambulance in the snow in Reno.
  8. Given our location and size, I expect to be the 800 lb gorilla of CUSA. Our standard should be excellence. We should have the means to terminate contracts when things aren't working out. We should have at least 6 home games a year. We should negotiate a P5 coming to Apogee every other year. We should go to a bowl game 80% of the time and sneak into the top 25 occasionally. Those are my expectations.
  9. I would say 20k at the game. The home side had many empty seats, I'll go with 50% actual butts in seats over there. Surprisingly it got better as the home side turned into the top of the horseshoe where you started to see some green. At the mid point of the top of the horseshoe it became a sea of green and it was packed. The visitor sideline was more like 60% full with SMU students packed in a couple of lower sections but otherwise mostly good guys. The lower sections on the visitor side were far more full than the upper sections. I'll go with 50/50 as my final answer.
  10. Sorry about your pops Emmit, I lost my father July 1st. Time does heal. Thanks for posting all of that - you nailed it.
  11. In Carrollton at the Honors Club. It's probably a 45-50 minute drive from campus with no traffic.
  12. Did Judge Fred improve immensely from last year? I seem to recall hearing good things about him last summer that didn't translate to production on the field. I hope he's at the level you are describing.
  13. This is concerning. I have never seen this level of apathy from the Mean Green Nation for spring ball since I started following this board in '98-'99ish? I sense big change folks.
  14. The 5 reps HAD to be due to injury. There is no way a 6'5" 300 lb. four year starting offensive tackle for a division one school could only muster that much. NO WAY.
  15. Channel 642-1 on Direct TV.
  16. The DFW contiguous cities are "The Metroplex". The region is North Texas. "According to the North Texas Commission (NTC), the term originated from an ad agency's combination of the terms "metropolitan" and "complex". The NTC copyrighted[9] the term "Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex" in 1972 as a replacement for the previously-ubiquitous "North Texas", which studies had shown lacked identifiability outside the state. In fact, only 38 percent of a survey group identified Dallas and Fort Worth as part of "North Texas", with the Texas Panhandle also a perceived correct answer, being the northernmost region of Texas." .m.wikipedia.org/wiki/DallasFort_Worth_metroplex
  17. But they had an impressive list of offers. Billy, have you done a ranking of CUSA teams past classes? Now that would be interesting. I do think you are on to something.
  18. Thank goodness for Benford. I kid.
