  1. The way they are playing makes our loss to them look a little bit better. Also, I would prefer MTSU to stay at #2 in the east instead of WKU. For some reason, even with all of WKU's struggles, I still want to avoid them as much as possible in the tourney.
  2. The schedule got a little messed up this year because things shifted around so the UNT @ WKU could be on national TV. We were originally scheduled to play WKU on the same trip as the MTSU game I believe. What is super messed up is that this will be the THIRD year in a row that we have to play @ WKU. EDIT: Another thing the SBC is terrible at is seeding basketball tournaments. Hopefully this year with the simplified format they can manage to follow their own rules.
  3. I'll trade not having a deep team this year for a year and a half of Tony Mitchell any day of the week. Actually, I'll trade that for half a year of Tony Mitchell. If Cam Spencer Gets a medical redshirt, then Tony Mitchell is going to take up the last scholarship (I hope I'm not wrong on that). Even with having an extremely young team next year, as soon as Tony Mitchell steps on the court, we are immediately a contender for the SBC title...and we are this year too, even with that scholarship being open. Who knows if JJ knew how all of this would work out, but I certainly am not complaining.
  4. As soon a Jordan Williams committed to North Texas for basketball, his ESPN grade dropped...I believe from a 93 to an 85.
  5. I could not get myself to read the article...
  6. Boise State played a 13 game schedule in 2009, including 1 FCS school: Boise State 2009 Schedule I think the bigger problem is how hyped the Houston game has been. To add an FCS game in front of it would just be kind of a strange thing to do at this point in my opinion.
  7. You may be right...It's a tough call at this point. I think we need 1 more game of "data" to really decide which way to root. This is going to be a long few weeks...
  8. I think at this point we need to start rooting for Denver...at least in their game against Arkansas State. There is very little difference when it comes down to it between first and second place in the west. FAU or Denver are the two that are going to battle it out for the regular season title, and auto-nit bid, but other than that we just need to get the bye. We could be way far behind Denver in the west when the season is over, but as long as we end in 2nd place, it doesn't matter. We need to start rooting for whoever is playing UALR, ASU, and even ULL, who are absolutely within striking distance. It is going to be a battle for that second spot. We know we can play with anyone in the Belt, we just can't do it for 4 nights in a row. Get the bye, and we are in good shape.
  9. We just need to get that bye, and then anything can happen.
  10. With this loss we can absolutely, 100% forget about winning the SBC regular season title. With Denver's loss, I guess we could still win the west division, but I highly doubt it. At this point we just need to suck it up and do everything we can to get second place in the west and a bye in the first round of the tournament. If we don't get a bye, we will not win the tourney, not with a 7 player rotation.
  11. This next half of basketball could define the rest of the season for us. Great crowd.
  12. I think the weather will affect attendance much more than the classes being cancelled. I still expect a decent student crowd, because most students are within walking distance. Temperatures in the 20's may bring that number down a bit though. Since classes may still be on for Friday, almost all students are still on campus.
  13. It was a pretty average week for Sun Belt Basketball Attendance. Western Kentucky still has the overall lead by an average of nearly 1000/game. North Texas, and Middle Tennessee round out the top 3. We have a new leader in the conference attendance category...Arkansas Little-Rock. With a great crowd against Arkansas State, they jump over North Texas, Arkansas State, and Louisiana-Lafayette to take the lead. FIU still leads the away attendance by a lot, and I don't see that changing. I realize that the away attendance number does not mean a whole lot right now, but at the end of the year I will do some extra calculations and make the number more significant. Anyways, here are the top 10 crowds of the year so far: 1. Western Kentucky (Louisville) - 7326 2. North Texas (Texas Tech) - 7105 3. Middle Tennessee (Vanderbilt) - 6820 4. Denver (FIU) - 6244 5. Western Kentucky (South Carolina) - 6012 6. Louisiana-Lafayette (ULM) - 5624 7. Denver (CS-Northridge) - 5450 8. South Alabama (FIU) - 5431 9. UALR (Arkansas State) - 5218 10. North Texas (Arkansas State) - 4856
  14. I think on this one we legitimately didn't...the same can't be said for a couple others.
  15. According to ESPN Freddy Warner and Kerry Swarn are our top 2...ranking don't mean much, but that makes me feel a little better.
  16. We need to go out and get these guys back. Wake Forest and Ok. State can suck it. If they were committed here at one point, we still have a chance.
  17. Rivals does not show an offer from us...that makes me feel better. Of course Rivals may be wrong...
  18. If he did switch to Oklahoma State, hopefully the UNT staff is doing everything they can to get him to switch back.
