  1. Another guy in the USU chat said he had a source at Colorado State that said USU and SJSU were not the two teams chosen...my head is starting to hurt as well...I bet the MWC has not even decided yet and all of this is BS.
  2. I am shocked that SJSU got chosen. They have a crappy 26,000 seat football stadium, and a basketball arena not even half the size of ours. Their attendance is awful as well. Their must have been some other factor (I assume money) involved with the TV contract...if not, they are just an odd choice. It's time to add two to the belt and get to 12...I would pick Louisiana Tech and Texas State, but NMSU wouldn't be a bad choice either. We still bolt the first chance we get...
  3. We need to accept the first offer we get from anyone not named Karl Benson. CUSA may be more regional, but the MWC is the better conference by far. Both have their positives, and both are leaps and bounds above the SBC. Either way we will be better off, we just either need the MWC invite, or the MWC to lure away UTEP so we have our shot at CUSA.
  4. I was just saying that eventually people will have to sit up there as our arena fills up more and more. I do like the idea of having student seating on both ends. The thing about expanding the student section though is that student turnout must warrant it. That is not the case quite yet unfortunately.
  5. It is a good thing that the student seating is filling up. The upper deck is the pit crew section as well...and eventually the student section will be full every game, and people are going to have to sit up there. Season tickets are sold in every other lower bowl section at this point, so expanding the student section will be tricky.
  6. For what it's worth, that was from over two months ago. Hopefully Jordan Williams has been talking up UNT and Jarion changes his mind.
  7. I consider the Pit Crew Seats to be right on top of the court. I could have reached out and touched the Arkansas State players last night...I think they left the space behind the scorers table open so athletic staff could move around a bit easier, but that is just a guess. What I wish they would do is tear out the press area on center court, and fill that in with seats. Then fill in the area behind the scorers table with spaces for the press to sit.
  8. I have the Ch.21 recording on my DVR. If someone can tell me about what time in the game they showed them I can take a video of it with my camera and e-mail it to you.
  9. There goes my theory about CBS affiliated stations being the only ones that could show the highlights...
  10. KTXA (Channel 21) and KTVT (Channel 11) are both owned by CBS. I'm not sure how the "rights" to the highlights go, but when a game is locally televised, it may be the case that channel 11 was the only channel that could show highlights of the game. It is still unacceptable that the other TV stations continue to give mediocre SMU and TCU teams all the media coverage, when the largest university within a 200 mile radius has the better basketball team. I did not see the coverage on Mangrum, but I bet they made it sound like Mangrum "upgraded" to SMU instead of transferring because he graduated from UNT...
  11. We have a good shot at it for home conference games...we are just under 1,000 behind WKU for the overall average, so we have a shot at that as well. There were 3 really nice crowds tonight in the SBC. ULL had 5600+ for their game against ULM, and USA had 5400+ for their game against FIU. We were actually passed tonight by ULL (by a mere 5 people/game) in the conference game average. We do though sit alone in second place for overall average. I'll post the full attendance report sometime tomorrow, or early on Monday.
  12. By the way, in case anyone missed this, they moved the women's game up to 4:30, so the mens game will legitimately start at 7pm unless something very strange happens in the women's game. See you at the pit! Go Mean Green!
  13. The guy in the bottom right kind of looks like a gay gayer Andy Dalton...
  14. No, but UTEP would give the MWC an opportunity to expand their TV contract into the lucrative television markets of Chihuahua, Mexico.
  15. I thought we already concluded that: 1. The only contact between the MWC and SJSU was SJSU calling a begging to be invited. And... 2. San Jose State IS NOT in the San Diego television market.
  16. I wouldn't go that far. They have only played 2 of 6 conference games on the road so far, and that was a terrible ULM team, and WKU during their funk (that may be starting to subside). They are a perennially bad team on the road. They definitely do have a shot to win the west though.
  17. We control our own destiny with Denver and for the SBC West...all we have to do is beat them twice. There is a good chance that both us and Denver will lose some other games though...hopefully just Denver. Denver also plays 6 of their last 10 on the road, and there is no way they keep up this pace under those circumstances. The team that we need someone else to beat is FAU. If we are the only team that beats them (which is not a gaurantee even though we play them at home), they will still win the regular season title. I'm expecting UALR to give FAU a good fight, and maybe even pull off the victory tomorrow afternoon on ESPN2. Regardless, Denver and their cheesy pictures can suck it.
  18. Any crowd of exactly 4150 or above, and we will move into second place in overall Sun Belt attendance, passing MTSU. If we keep the good crowds going we may even be able to catch WKU. The students on here (me included) need to spread the word about the game, especially the guys in fraternities so we can get some large groups into the pit.
  19. It would be really great to not be in the Sun Belt... but I think the worst case scenario is any scenario that ends with UNT being a member of the WAC. Obviously we would have to bring that upon ourselves, but if the MWC or CUSA do not work out, we need to just stay put.
  20. I'm not sure, but I think because he already sat out a year, he would need to apply for a medical redshirt (which is actually called a medical hardship waiver...I think). That would also result in a 6th year, and we know the NCAA track record of granting those to UNT. I personally think we need to use him as soon as he comes available, preferably before the SBC tournament, and use that scholarship on either a JUCO big man or a transfer.
  21. I talked to Alzee before the game against FIU last week, and he said his knee is healing up pretty well. He is going to use a reshirt year, and come back next year with 3 years of elibility left.
