  1. Good catch. I copied the elevation of Mount Logan. Either way, they were playing at an elevation that they are fairly comfortable with. North Texas was not. It was not an excuse for them getting beat, I just think it had a lot to do with how badly they were beaten.
  2. Logan, UT is at an elevation of 9,710 feet above SL. Albuquerque is at an elevation 5312 feet above SL. Denton is at 640 feet above SL. I think if you take two evenly matched teams or maybe one is slightly better than the other. The one that is slightly better comes from Logan the other comes from Denton. They meet in Albuquerque. That team coming from Denton will be gassed in the first few minutes. The team from Logan will feel like they have oxygen for days. I believe that happened here. Three days is not enough time to acclimate to that elevation change. I had the same thing happen to me. I arrived in Bagram AB Afghanistan. Felt okay. One week later they move us to the mountains at FOB Airborne. I thought I was going to die running 100 yards with no load. After three months there, we close that FOB and went to TB Dwyer which was a change of about 5000 feet. I thought I could run forever. I had not run a 5:30 mile in years, but I did after being at that altitude and coming down 5000 feet. I am not saying we would have won, but I am convinced that change in altitude crushed us. If Utah was coming from somewhere around 640 feet above SL like Denton, then this would be embarrassing.
  3. I agree. The altitude thing is a real thing. I expected them to lose because I didn't think they could overcome the altitude change. I did not expect them to be blown off the field.
  4. This had me laughing so hard. I remember those days when TV actually used to go off. No more programming after the National Anthem. Kids today certainly do not know anything about that. Haha.
  5. Exactly what Chad Morris did. He jumped at the Arkansas job before SMU regressed this year. I think SL may be thinking the same thing. Get out while you can. I hope that we do not regress, but we are losing a lot on defense and I am not sure anyone backing up the current crop of seniors on the defensive side of the ball will play at the same or better level than what the seniors are this year. Maybe he sees that and will get out while he can. I hope not, but I cannot help but think that may be in his mind.
  6. You are exactly right. He should have never written the first article. Now he is trying to walk it back after he saw the fans reactions.
  7. There will be improvement. What hurt this team this year was injuries and youth. When Teakell went down in September, they lost most if not all of the games that she was out. Once she came back, they started to win, but they were still without Ibarra (I hope I spelled her name correctly) for the whole season. Then York and Williams were the only Seniors.
  8. I got immediate access. Now I am about to cancel.
  9. Yeah, that guy kept calling him Sean all night. If you are going to be a play by play guy, you should at least know the name of the head coaches.
  10. This game should have not been this close. I understand rivalry games, but some of the play calling on 4th and short was very questionable.
  11. I knew I was right. I knew he cared for this University and was grateful for the opportunity to play football here. Brett Vito wrote this article to get more traffic and by God if it didn't work. Brett should be ashamed of misleading the readers. That's why people believe it when the President says "fake news." This type of journalism is just bad.
  12. He did not say he considered it, Brett Vito said that. He said it crossed his mind.
  13. I usually try not to say bad things about Brett Vito, but for him to write this article without giving the full context on which it is based reflects badly on him. If Mason wants to play at the next level and a major P5 contacted him indirectly, then I can see why he said it crossed his mind and he weighed the pros and cons. All of us sitting at home behind our computer screens would have most likely thought about it as well. Especially if it is a program that consistently has someone drafted every year. You would have to consider that North Texas has not had anyone drafted since who, Cody Spencer? That is a long time. Maybe he thought I really love UNT and want to finish here, but if I transfer will I have a better shot at the NFL? I really love living in Texas, but if I had the chance to make $100k more than I make now by moving to Nebraska, I would certainly think about it and weigh the pros and cons. It doesn't mean I don't love Texas or that I am not grateful to all that Texas has done for me. Maybe he should not have answered the question honestly. maybe he should have been PC with his answer. That's why I always say we want people like politicians to lie to us. If they are truthful and say something that we think we they shouldn't, then we don't vote for them. However, if they lie through their teeth, we vote for them because we liked the lie they told us. Mason answered a question truthfully and now people are upset with his honesty. At the end of the day, Brett should have never written this article because it makes it look as if Fine is not grateful or that he really doesn't care about UNT like we thought he did. I think that is far from the truth. I believe Mason loves UNT and that he is 100% grateful to them for giving him a chance.
  14. No. I got your point. Let's just say we have a difference of opinion. Although they blew that lead, I still will spend my time and money to go watch them on Thursday. You choose not to do that and that is fine. Thank you for being a fan. I was not saying that you are not a fan, I was just saying I choose to spend time and money on them no matter what. Is it smart? Probably not, but at the end of the day, we all spend time, effort, and money on things that others may feel is not smart, but for the one spending it, as long as they enjoy it is all that matters.
  15. He is not going anywhere. No P5 will touch him after this debacle.
  16. This coaching staff needs to figure out how to make adjustments at halftime. We are on fire in the first half, the opponents make adjustments at half, we make none, then we lose. That is bad coaching.
  17. I will be there as well because I am not a fair weather fan. This was a complete debacle, but I am and will always be a UNT fan.
  18. Being a Steelers fan, I want them to take a look at Ejiya. He could play opposite of TJ Watt because Bud Dupree is not the pass rush specialist they thought he would be. He is constantly getting himself push up field past the QB. EJ has the knack for bending underneath those linemen and taking a better angle to the QB. He may not get there each time, but he sure forces them to throw early. I can see it now. EJ and TJ. That has a great ring to it. Sort of like a Superbowl ring.
  19. I think so. LaTech and UAB both had breaks somewhere along the line before playing us. You can allow guys to recover when you get that break. We will see how they play against ODU coming off the bye week. I expect to see them firing on all cylinders again after the first quarter against ODU. I think they will come out a little slow after having the bye week, but will get it going in the second and will cruise to the win.
  20. Well, we got those two wins. Hopefully we move back into the top 25.
  21. They got some revenge for the football loss. I think injuries and them being a young team had something to do with how they have played this year. When Barbara Teakell went down with injury, they were losing consistently. Now that she is back, they are much improved. Henrianna Ibarra, the starting libero, has been out all season. Not sure if she will even play this year. Youth and injuries just caught up with this team. I expect they will be really strong next season barring injuries.
  22. Our ladies are firing on all cylinders. They will win the conference and the conference tournament. If they play like they are capable of playing, they should move through the tournament relatively easily. There is no other team in CUSA in their league. If they play like they played against WKU, look out. They were missing Taylor Torres for WKU so I do not expect that to happen again.
  23. I like what SL is doing. I think we want more, but I knew a guy in Pittsburgh that took a North Texas DT in the first round in 1969. Everyone thought he was crazy. They didn't win much in his first few seasons, but he was changing the culture there after 40 years of losing and coaching up what he had and bringing in what he needed. Once everything was in place, that guy won 4 Superbowls in 6 years. No team in the NFL has done that again. New England was close, but they have not done it. So SL is changing the culture at UNT, coached up what he inherited, bringing in what he needs. Once it is all in place, we will see championships. Just like the Rooney's were patient with Chuck Noll, I am hoping Wren and Smatresk are patient with SL and not like us fans wanting to maybe pull the trigger on him. He is going to pay dividends for us big time.
