  1. Hopefully you get an interview with him soon to give us some insight on why he chose UNT.
  2. This is huge when you can get 4 star recruits. I know he may be a retread, but the fact that he chose to come to UNT says to me that we are trending in the right direction. Pretty soon we will get 4 star guys right out of high school and won't have to take guys who are transferring. If things keep going this way and we keep winning, we will have to start looking seriously at coaches salaries. Right now, IMO North Texas is becoming very attractive and P5 schools are going to come very hard after what we have. With a student body and alumni base as large as ours, there is no reason why we cannot compete with P5 schools. Especially the ones on the smaller side. However, I know we have a long way to go to energize an apathetic alumni base. I think we are starting to sell the new students. It's the older students and alumni that we need to get on board.
  3. That was great. Thank you for posting this.
  4. I was looking at the all time football recruits for North Texas according to 24/7. Mason Fine, Jeffery Wilson and Zach Orr were so far down the list, it was ridiculous. Hint, it's easier to start at the bottom to get to those guys sooner. That goes to show that giving stars to players do not necessarily give a great indication of how well they will perform at the next level. https://247sports.com/college/north-texas/Sport/Football/AllTimeRecruits/
  5. I went to Rendezvous there because they supposedly have the best dry rub. Yeah, I was not impressed. I never went back again.
  6. I taught ROTC at the University of Memphis when Wren was there. We often had to work with the Athletics Department to plan and do the color guards for multiple sporting events. I do not see him leaving for Memphis. UNT is a much better place for an AD. I think he would only leave for a major P5 program. Besides, Memphis is a garbage city to live in. It is cool to visit Memphis as a tourist, but living there is a whole different matter. The school system is horrible, the crime rate is terrible, and the city leadership is completely corrupt. The last thing is, Memphis BBQ is not what it is hyped up to be. Texas BBQ is much better. :)
  7. Would be 8 if Mayfield can do well in the Bucs mini camp.
  8. USM scores a run. They still trail 3-1 in the bottom of the 4th. They still need 3 more runs at least. I am certainly cheering for USM.
  9. Especially with the way Pittsburgh's kicker hit the skids last season.
  10. LaTech up 3-0 in game 3 of this weekend. If this keeps up, they will be Co-Champs with us. I hope USM can get their bats to come to life soon.
  11. I remember him when I was a student at Denton High School. He was no longer coaching football, but we all loved him. He was a great man.
  12. Why do you guys even acknowledge CK2? He comes on this board to troll. Just stop responding to the guy or giving him ratings. Don't give him good ratings or bad. Just do not acknowledge his presence.
  13. Roderick Young to Jacksonville.
  14. I may be wrong, but I think the difference is recruiting. For the player it makes no difference. They just want an opportunity to make it. For the school, it matters because when you are recruiting, kids know about the players who were drafted and you can use that. They don't know anything about who signed as free agents unless that free agent makes a household name for himself. Sure you can tell them someone signed as a FA, but it doesn't have the same impact as selling a prospect on being drafted. Just my opinion.
  15. Kemon Hall to the Chargers.
  16. I don't understand how the Packers draft Ka'Dar Hollman, but pick up Nate Brooks in free agency. Nate Brooks stats were much better than his.
  17. As a Track and Field guy, all of those times are mediocre at best. The 11.55 is ungodly slow. You would not even make it out of your high school district meet with that time. I ran faster than 23.28 as a freshman in high school so that is seriously slow. The 21.40 is your best time in this group and that would not even get you past the regionals in high school. At 100 meters, you need to be 10.4 or faster. At 200 meters, you need to be 21 flat or better. At 400 meters, you should be 47 high at least. The long jump should be at least 22'.
  18. I feel for Bradley. She gave a heart and soul for this team. I hate to see her leave without some kind of hardware, but she has helped Coach Mitchell turn this program around.
  19. I can take a loss, but this is an embarrassing loss.
  20. This one looks like it might be in the books.
