How many times has UNT taken advantage of these huge opportunity games? I would hazard a guess we have one the worst closing percentages in the history of ncaa

Is UNT Changing Their Scheduling Philosophy?
Jonnyeagle replied to Side.Show.Joe's topic in Mean Green Football
The FCS does not help the power rankings which become more important with a 12 game playoff. How sad would it be to miss the 12th spot because you bought a win against Texas Southern? -
DATCU Stadium sounds fine.

Man you may well be right. The PAC10 will be a shadow of its former self. I like where the AAC is positioned for the future.

We have some of the lowest percentages of student fees in the country. Giving has always been an issue at UNT but it seems to be getting better.

Joe Bessner ('15) has a blast at work every day, literally. The UNT alum works as a pyrotechnician for the company Pyrotecnico, handling firework shows for music festivals, concerts and has even come back to UNT for the Homecoming bonfire. Pyrotecnico's latest contract is with Beyoncé for her Renaissance tour, and Bessner will be working at SeaWorld's nightly show HydroPower: Xtreme FX this summer in San Antonio. He first came to UNT because of the radio, television and film program, that exposed him to theatre. He decided to switch paths and ended up graduating with a theatre degree. On campus, he was heavily involved with the UNT Talons, a student organization that upholds many UNT traditions such as the Homecoming bonfire, the cannon, spirit flags and more. "I was always the kid who spent hundreds of dollars on fireworks growing up. And then at UNT, when I saw that I could shoot a cannon off and build fire legally, that swayed me into it." When one of his classmates asked him if he'd be interested in helping the lighting company she worked for with a fireworks show, Bessner jumped at the chance and never looked back. read more: https://northtexan.unt.edu/issues/2023-spring/lighting-lives

Some nonprofit NIL collectives may not qualify as tax-exempt
Jonnyeagle replied to NT80's topic in Mean Green Football
But if the coaches can make millions and the ADs get rich why can’t the players expect a little extra? Also if NIL is based on name image and likeness, why do some teams like SMU pay 30k salaries to every scholarship player? Are all of those players truly earning that NIL? -
The real measure of Morris's success at UNT is yet to be seen
Jonnyeagle replied to Harry's topic in Mean Green Football
If a player transfers to UNT do they have tp stay for a period of time or can they immediately leave? I am not clear on the latest for this.- 16 replies

Mine is Daizon Carroll. He has played a lot of football for us and I think he could be a big piece to the running game this season in the AAC.

They are doing that solely due to Frank Harris returning at QB period!

Guys video is off the charts. Best player of the class so far.

If the PAC and the ACC collapse
Jonnyeagle replied to Cooke County Kid's topic in Mean Green Football
I know this won’t be a popular opinion on here, but when talking to my friends the response I always get is “they haven’t really done anything yet.” Or “check back when they do something.” These are not just friends but they also attended and graduated from UNT. If you look back at our history every time we take a step forward it seems like we take two steps back. There has never been any consistency. Conversely, basketball is something my friends are extremely excited about. In fact 3 of them will become season ticket holders this year! -

Jonnyeagle replied to El Paso Eagle's topic in Mean Green Football
Appreciate Commissioner Aresco giving our basketball program their just due. Aresco is clearly a more impressive leader than we have ever had before. -
