  2. Well they still have two remaining spots and so it could possibly happen. I think they need another shooter as well.
  3. I just want to state for the record and in perpetuity that I am 100% behind Eric Morris and this Mean Green football program. A fair amount of you guys seem to be on the fence. I think we should get behind him. The guy just oozes enthusiasm and he is exactly what we need at this time. There are no excuses or pity parties with Morris!
  4. I agree and I really think our fans are underestimating how good this conference really is. It is basically a P5 conference. They had one of the damn 4 playoff teams for goodness sake.

  6. The Texas Legislature has sent Senate Bill 17; which abolishes diversity, equity and inclusion offices in Texas public universities; to Gov. Greg Abbott. Once the governor signs the bill, Texas will be the second state to ban DEI offices, programs and trainings at publicly funded universities. Florida was the first state to banish equity and diversity offices. University of North Texas officials didn’t have much to say this week, despite the fact that the university system includes a Division of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Access on its Denton campus. According to the division website, about 30 staff members currently work for the division. Leadership of the division didn’t respond to a request for an interview. “The University of North Texas System is currently reviewing all legislation passed during the 88th Texas Legislature and will continue to adhere to all state and federal laws,” Laken Avonne Rapier, UNT chief communications officer, said in a statement. UNT was one of the last Texas university systems to announce that it would pause new DEI programs, initiatives and training pending a full review of the system’s hiring policies. 7. Quit painting with such a broad brush. We have plenty on here that appreciate your postings. To quote Stripes, "Lighten up Francis!".
  8. Anyone seen one of these at WalMart yet?
  9. While a move out of the Pac-12 is not assured, Colorado is performing due diligence to determine whether to return to the conference it once called home. The Buffaloes, like the rest of the Pac-12, remain in wait-and-see mode regarding a new media rights deal that has yet to be solidified. Colorado and the Big 12 have met face-to-face while involved in consistent talks over a period several months, according to multiple sources. It was made clear that a move to the Big 12 would not be made without the support of football coach Deion Sanders. read more: https://www.cbssports.com/college-football/news/colorado-holds-substantive-talks-with-big-12-as-buffaloes-consider-leaving-pac-12/amp/
  10. Rarely disagree with @Cooley but will on this one. I think this kid is the jewel of the class!

  12. Remember the AD is not supposed to be involved in the NIL at all (they still are behind the scenes of course). So they have to be careful about what they state pubically.
  13. I don't see 6 wins either. They are sort of like us, probably could win C-USA most years but not the same player in the AAC.
  14. Lawrence Edward Blanton passed away in Kerrville, TX on May 26, 2023. Born in San Perlita, TX in 1936 to Esther Ruth and John Luther Blanton, his father was taken when Lawrence was only 3 months old. At 3 years old, his mother would go on to marry Orville May, a man whom Lawrence loved immensely, and who loved and raised Lawrence as his own. He graduated from Raymondville High School in 1954 and went on to North Texas State on a football scholarship - he would ultimately go on to receive his Master's Degree in Education. He proudly served in the US Army from 1957-1961. He then met the love of his life, Zola Gail Larson, and they married in 1963. He was a beloved teacher in La Sara and San Perlita for many years before moving with his family to teach in Japan in 1980, and then taught in Germany. This journey would take him to over 20 countries in 17 years, finally retiring to Kerrville Texas in 1997. Never without a story to tell or a joke to crack, Lawrence would tell you everything there was to know about classical music or a historical event if you had the time - sometimes, a few times. There was seldom an opportunity for a laugh or a chuckle that was missed. Lawrence would always take the time to remind you that "some got it, and some don't" - he had it. He is survived by his wife of 60 years Zola Gail, his two children Laura May (Blanton) Harvey, John Larson Blanton, his sister Linda Nell (May) Shaar, son-in-law Michael Turner Harvey, daughter-in-law Lisa Ann (Knopp) Blanton, 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Memorial services are 5/31 at 10AM at Kerrville's Inn of the Hills; in lieu of flowers please make donations to Dietert Center's Meals on Wheels program in Kerrville.
  15. I was watching a college golf broadcast and they were talking about Pepperdine and how hood they historically were but how this year they were even better because of what they were able to do with the portal. A good college golf team in past years might have 4-5 top notch players. Now Pepperdine has 8-9 or even 10. It made me sad.
  16. Yeah me too. I’m just elated we hqve someone other than mediocre Seth at the helm.
