  1. This is looking very bad for us I am afraid. The Pac is wanting to cherrypick the best of the rest sadly.
  2. Agree. The moves Aresco made are looking pretty smart about now.
  3. This is what will happen West: Stanford Cal Oregon State Washington State SMU Rice North Texas UTSA Tulsa East: Tulane UAB FAU Charlotte ECU USF Temple Navy Memphis
  4. This Frisco thing is taking on a life of it's own. I guess it is ok for us to like Frisco but we aren't supposed to like UNT Dallas?
  5. Yes the Mountain West will be the beneficiary of all these changes I suppose.
  6. Singer-songwriters Norah Jones, Meat Loaf and Don Henley are all noted as alumni of the University of North Texas (UNT), located in the far north suburb of Dallas in Denton. Another notable alum is Melanie Vest, president of the $1.5 billion DATCU in Corinth, Texas. On Monday, DATCU became even more connected to the UNT after the organizations announced DATCU has signed a deal to be the exclusive financial institution for the university, as well as securing the naming rights to UNT’s football stadium. The histories of the credit union and UNT actually go back to the roots of both institutions. DATCU began as Denton County Teachers Federal Credit Union on the campus of North Texas State Teachers College, which eventually changed its name to the University of North Texas. “It’s a great marriage between two distinctly Denton institutions,” Glen McKenzie, DATCU’s CEO, said. “We were founded in 1936 by UNT educators and teachers from local school districts for the purpose of serving educators. This partnership honors that original vision and further engrains us into the North Texas region.” read more: https://www.cutimes.com/2023/07/31/datcu-signs-exclusive-university-deal-in-texas/?amp=1
  7. If the AAC was taken over by PaaC where would we end up? The Belch?
  8. The American Athletic Conference takes on a new look this season. Gone are UCF, Cincinnati, and Houston, who left for riches in the Power 5 world to the Big 12. The AAC had added six teams from Conference USA, led by two-time defending champion UTSA. The other newcomers are Florida Atlantic, UAB, North Texas, Rice, and Charlotte. The top two teams in this 14-team conference will compete in the AAC championship. Tulane is the defending champion, going from 2-10 to 12-2, the biggest improvement in NCAA history. The Green Wave beat UCF 45-28 in the AAC title game, and for good measure, defeated USC 46-45 in the Cotton Bowl. Despite several key losses to graduation, Tulane won’t relinquish its title easily. There should be plenty of contenders as at least the top four expected teams (UTSA, Tulane, SMU, and Memphis) should be considered title contenders, and don’t sleep on newcomers Florida Atlantic and UAB, along with Navy, either. HERO Sports’ AAC Predicted Order of Finish 1. SMU 2. Tulane 3. UTSA 4. Memphis 5. Florida Atlantic 6. Navy 7. UAB 8. North Texas 9. East Carolina 10. Rice 11. Tulsa 12. Temple 13. South Florida 14.
