  1. MeanGreenPOP, sorry to here NT did not off a scholarship. I thought he would be a lock. Anyhow, good luck to him at No. Colorado. One correction, I think he would lose a year of eligibility if he tried to move up to D1A down the road. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.
  2. I think we should be battling UT, OU, and even LSU for recruits.
  3. Amen! Get well soon Coach Dickey. I might add, considering all of the flak Dickey receives on this board, maybe a nice email to the athletic department on behalf of Darrell, hoping for his quick recovery, would be a nice thing to do. Heck, anyone have the address of the hospital? A card wouldn't hurt either. Face it, football is but a tiny part of our lives in the grand scheme of things.
  4. Sadly, not all on the coaching staff think you you do Silvereagle. Your ideas are excellent and should have been tried.
  5. Well, in honor of PlummMeanGreen we could name them the Denton "Thirty-fives", or the Denton CrossRoads.
  6. Wouldn't NCAA rules prohibit AA from doing this? Recruits can't make contact with alumns.
  7. Thanks for the reply, but my company is trying to do the hiring. I'm not looking for a job myself; hell, I'm one of the owners!! So what I need is a headhunter to find us the right person for the job.
  8. From the premium site the crowd looks pretty good tonight.
  9. Good. Check your blood pressure now. It should be back to normal.
  10. Do any of you business minded/marketing type Greenbackers out there know of any good employment service type companies that you could recommend for a mid-management type position? Our company is having a hard time finding a Branch Manager for our Little Rock location. We are an industrial wholesaler of construction, welding, safety, and facility maintenance supplies, and the type of person we are looking for would have general management and sales management responsibilities. I don't think I'm interested in a Monster.com, but more of the professional type recruitment services. Any help you can give me would be appreciated. You can post here or PM me. Thanks, DeepGreen
  11. Shoot, I can beat that. I can quit my diet on a minutes notice and put on 20 pounds in less than two months!
  12. Louisiana Tech is beating out the likes of Northwestern State, McNeese, Delta State and Tennessee-Chattanooga for some of their recruits and losing them to TCU. "Tech has received a verbal commitment from Ruston High School defensive lineman Randy Grigsby, but it looks like the Bulldogs will lose Ouachita Parish High School receiver/defensive back Jimmy Young to TCU. Grigsby, a 6-5, 250-pound defensive end is the fourth local player who is expected to sign with Tech on Feb. 1, National Signing day, joining Wossman linebacker Cardia Jackson, OCS tight end Rob McGill and West Monroe tight end Clayton Chambers. Grigsby chose Tech over Northwestern State, where he made an official visit, and McNeese State. Young committed to Tech back in December, but recently has drawn serious interest from TCU, Tulsa and Mississippi State. "I talked to Jimmy this morning and it all happened pretty quick,'' Ouachita coach John Carr said. "He wanted to look at some other places and have something to compare Tech to.'' Young made official visits to Tulsa and TCU, visiting TCU this past weekend. "It just went great as far as the coaches, the facilities and the players have a lot of chemistry,'' Young said. "I felt like I could see myself living there even after college.'' Tech has also received a verbal commitment from Wayne County (Miss.) High School offensive lineman Will Taylor. The 6-6, 292-pound Taylor helped Wayne County to a 14-1 record and state runner-up in Class 4A. Taylor said he chose Tech over Tennesse-Chattanooga and Delta State."
  13. #1 - None of these players have signed on the dotted line. #2 - None of these recruits have played a down of D1A football.
  14. Anyone know if Carson Coffman attended the banquet?
  15. It's not a matter of "firing them all". I'd like for NT to have coaches that are better than .500 ball after 17 seasons, or a winning percentage in football after 8 seasons, four conference championships, and four bowl appearances. This University is being run like a high school, where just knowing the right people and doing an almost adequate job can set you up for retirement and and the fringes that a state employee can receive. What's going on at NT, right now, and what the future holds in our athletic programs is not encouraging. Ever go to the MeanGreen.com website and see the results of some of our teams? Track, golf? All they do is compare how the NT team did in a meet against themselves. If you did deep enough, you'll find that we came in 18th out of 20 teams, far behind power houses like Texas State, UT San Antonio, UT Arlingtom, or Blinn JC, etc. I want better than that for NT.
  16. I still don't like the helmet logo.
  17. The first half sound like we were playing street ball.
