  1. Just saw this from our president. This guy is great.
  2. Hopefully by then Littrell will have an old friend with a son he can offer a scholarship to so he can play QB for us.
  3. Just focus on the next task at hand. Beat UTSA.
  4. North Texas to the Mountain West Conference FTW.
  5. I find it weird that some alums would go to the HoD game and won't ever come to Denton. If that is the case then maybe they're the issue. Denton isn't not more than 30-45 mins away for most of the metroplex so building a pipeline in Dallas doesn't make any sense to me because Denton is part of DFW as a whole.. If people want to come to Denton then they will...if they don't then they simply won't. I just think the school and athletics program haven't ever really given our alums to care enough to come to Denton and be connected. We have to fill up Apogee every game first and we only achieve that by winning and winning big including consistently flirting top 25 ranking. We have Apogee and built it for a reason.
  6. The day we can fit 90k+ in a stadium is the day we can maybe consider something like this. The Cotton Bowl is way way big. We had what 38-40k for the HoD Bowl and the amount of emptiness of the stadium was still extremely much. That said we don't need a State Fair game. We're just 30-45 minutes north of the fair and if you don't want to drive you can even get there via the rail. Let's try to sell out Apogee first and keep on winning and building momentum.
  7. It's not rocket science people. What incentive has the school and program given alums and people in general to attend games and do it consistently? This program has been a joke and embarrassment for a very very very long time. If you win they will come. The thougth that Apogee would be the savior was foolish because the product inside it has still been a big turd with the exception of one flukey season. So when you're awful combined with the fact that there are A TON of other entertainment options you can put your dollars to we know why people don't show up to our games. Just keep on winning and building the program the right way and the attendance will take care of itself.
  8. Not only it amped up the team but it amped the hell out of me and much of the home crowd.
  9. Doesn't rub me the wrong way at all. We've been the worst CFB program of the last decade or so with the exception of one season. I like being under the radar and I want the program and our school to truly earn the change of perception.
  10. Don't completely disagree with you but if you're coming off of three 10-win seasons then automatically the standards and expectations inevitably increases big time and rightfully so.
  11. Overall the crowd was light but not really surprised tbh. The club area seemed to be a little more happening than normal in the start of teh game but maybe it's just me. Another thing I noticed from the club was the game was still close/tied in the 2nd half and it suddenly started clearing out quick with people leaving early. It was really weird to see and kinda disappointing.
  12. Need to give Toronto a ton of credit. They've been the better team top to bottom this series and I'm starting to think they're just flat out the better team than Texas and don't get enough credit.
  13. Even for a really really great team it's just hard winning a 100 games. There's always enough tough stretches and lulls that prevent you from winning that many games.
  14. Been to plenty of games at the old and current park. Make no mistake I absolutely love the current park but going there during the season is miserable. I find most of the people that don't want a new stadium and don't want a roof are ones that might attend a game a season or every few seasons. The people that buy season tix or ticket plans for multiple games absolutely want the roof. The truth is that the experience and heat is miserable and we live in a time where we all have a ton more options. We can watch it in our homes in front of a big screen HD TV or people can opt to just do something else since there's plenty to do. Times are different and the growth and traffic of the area hasn't helped at all in the lat 15 years or so. I also think it's silly putting it in Arlington. The notion that Arlington supports the Rangers couldn't be further from the truth. Attendance during weekdays have been pretty bad for a team in first place all season long. They do support the teams when building the stadiums but attendance wise it's not the way it should be. I know it won't happen but the park should be in downtown Dallas with plenty of access to go to games via the dart rail. You play 81 games a season and that ridiculous city of Arlington opting out of mass transportation annoys me to no end. Even when there are leaner years, if you have the option to get to the game via mass transit AND you have a roof and a climate controlled atmosphere people will still want to go to games and in my opinion the attendance shouldn't be as terrible as the same situation with the park being in Arlington.
  15. Eh personally I don't mind the uniforms myself.
  16. The fastest and easiest way in recovering from a money perspective is to win and win now. The sense of urgency has to be there and after the MBB season hopefully Bumford gets canned and Wren can find someone to right that ship.
  17. By no means this is a knock against Houston but I just don't see how and why any of the Big 12 candidates truly increases the overall perception and benefit of the conference including Houston. They certainly don't need the market because they already have that plus it's yet another school in Texas and I think that's probably a bad thing. The point of these big/great super conferences is expanding territory of more and different markets. Now if another P5 conference came to Houston because they wanted a presence and market in Texas then I see that as a more viable scenario but I just don't see how Cincy, Houston, Memphis and even BYU makes much of a difference in elevating the conference. It's only a matter of time before Texas will completely turn that ship around and OU is still strong as we see it. Once they both get to where they were 5-10 years at the same time in addition with TCU, Baylor, and OSU still threatening then I think the conference will be fine and they will have plenty of inclusion in the playoff picture especially with TX and OU.
