  1. We have the whole off season for this type of thread. C'mon man.
  2. That's why we always see and hear "just win games" and "winning cures everything".
  3. How can anybody be mad or upset w/today's game? We were down 24-7 to a really good team and we still fought the hell back to make it a game w/a chance to get it. I mean I like and always pull for the service academies when they don't play NT so given last season, and all that's happened since then with the new coach, AD, staff etc today is a day to be extremely proud of our boys and university and have a bunch of optimism going forward.
  4. The only perk getting it through the UNT ticket office is that it helps the athletic dept and it "looks good" but other than that there isn't any benefit to the consumer in any way whatsoever. So whether you bought your tickets direct from UNT or you got the general admission from the HoD website anybody is welcome to the official UNT tailgate.
  5. Regardless where you bought your ticket everybody is invited to the official university tailgate. And no not everyone is buying it directly from the UNT athletic department...quite silly to assume so for some people.
  6. You can get them on the HoD site. Buddy of mine just got 4 tix in the general admission area for 25.00 each.
  7. Cynthia is a very hard core and loyal UNT alum. There won't be any issue with her in telling the world about the school and the game. And for giggles here is some Cynthia Izaguirre gold...
  8. All of the posts I've read from you since the HoD announcement leads me to believe nothing about this season/bowl game will please you. It almost seems like you wanted North Texas not be invited to a bowl. It's totally cool...if you don't want to go then don't go. I just happen to believe that nothing about this game will negatively impact anything about the program and university. It can only help us especially something that's local. But to each their own.
  9. Who says you need to spend $50? They're playing in a place that seats over 90k people. There'll be plenty of ads on Groupon and/or Living Social that'll probably have tickets for $15-20 at most. You can take the trains right directly to fair park which is another incentive for a lot of people. I don't see how this is a bad financial decision but you support North Texas football...a history of losing and being bad. Yet they're invited to a bowl game right in our backyard you're bitching about making unsound financial decisions in attending the game? All good man I don't judge but to each their own. Surely doesn't have to be $50 since I imagine there will be deals for much cheaper. Also depending on what you do I'm sure you could even do close to a half day of work and get to work super early and still leave half hour or so before game time and make it. You're right this is all about effort and wanting to do it.
  10. Navy is down 21-0 early in the 2nd quarter against Temple in the AAC Championship game.
  11. I personally like it. Coaches always seem to get a pass when they are the nothing but snakes and dictators. Make no mistake about it but college athletics is a business especially FB and MBB because they are involved in so much revenue in several different areas.
  12. I'm not saying there aren't any old school people or traditionalists out there but we've seen over the past 5-10 years how uniforms and it's various combinations have meant something to practically all the team sports but especially the college game. It is what it is...nothing wrong with it and for me personally I find it great and refreshing especially after having to deal with RV's stance on boring unis/helmets for most of his tenure here etc.
  13. I thought SMU was paying Morris in the 3 million plus a year range. Unless SMU money severely whips him I can't see him or anyone having interest in the job itself. If NT wanted to step up assuming SL really does wonders in 2-3 seasons here then I don't see why NT couldn't double SL's current salary or come close to that if they wanted and if they were indeed truly serious about athletics like they say they are and we think they're starting to become.
  14. Actually no times have changed and they sure do make a difference. Whether you're in denial or not that's completely up to you and that's perfectly fine. Uniforms can be a great tool you can use for recruiting and fans and outsiders do enjoy various combinations and looks.
  15. Houston has had a recent track record of making good hires and staying good for some time now. As of now I'd say we're not really competing with them because they're just way ahead of us but that's ok. Things can change instantly and we all know much of this all goes in cycles.
  16. Pretty much how I would have responded...
  17. I was pulling for Strong to succeed but everything I'd heard and read this season was it's not even just about the wins but the way the team looked coached and prepared and how terrible it looked from most of the national observers. That said he was also the very first coach to follow a hall of famer and legend for the university and had ginormous shoes to fill. If I'm a coach going into a storied program, I wouldn't want to be the guy right after a legend but that's just me. And on top of that when he was hired Red McCombs didn't help things with his comments of how he was against that hiring etc. Just a bad situation for him overall but the moment he decides he wants a new HC gig the line will form to the left so he'll be just fine.
  18. It seems that very very good chunk of the club area leaves early like around the middle of the 3rd quarter regardless what's going on in the game. I remember a ton of people leaving early against Marshall which confused me greatly.
  19. Caught some of the game on the Watch ESPN channel on Roku and I was able to pull up the game just fine but it was quite a bit blurry and pixelated which was a bit annoying.
  20. I can see both sides of the argument here. To me there's no shame losing to LA Tech and WK...they're good...really good in comparison to our conference and G5's. The alternative to Fine is Alec Morris and we saw how he performed earlier this season and no question Fine is the best option right now IMO. I'm not really sold on Graham Harrell either and maybe it's b/c any interview I see of him or video of him talking/coaching to players something to me seems off but maybe it's just me.
  21. My buddy and I got in late like end of the first qtr b/c of a wreck we encountered and mad traffic. Outside the stadium near the red parking lot it was friggin packed. My buddy who has no affiliation at all whatsoever to UNT made a comment if they those people would just come inside and fill the empty spots it would be or look close to fully packed stadium. All in all tho given our history of losing it's going to take quite a bit of time and constant winning for us to have a reason to bitch about near 22K attendance IMO.
