So we get two off weeks and they are both in November! That's nine consecutive weeks with no break ... rough.

Good article but nothing really new except some comments from McCarney on the family issue he had at ISU. I still believe we made an outstanding hire.

I have to agree somewhat with Vito. Right now I can't predict anything better than about a .500 record. When Canalas took over we played much better but we were still below .500. Injuries ... bad bounces ... crucial penalities ... all will happen again because they happen for every team in every season. Players are learning new schemes and techniques. Coaches are still getting to know their players. I would be very disappointed if we finished with thre wins again. I think that only happens if things go truely horrible with injuries and bad luck. I think between 5, 6, or 7 wins is likely.

You're right. It could be 15 before all is said is done.

Note: NFL practice squads have 8 players, not 15. I don't think you can look at athletic scholarship in isolation. If you want to start paying players something besides what they receive for their scholarships then you're opening the door to needing to pay all scholarship students. Personally, I do not think players need to be paid beyond their scholarships.

We still could be looking at some Juco guys transfering in this summer - especially DT's.

It's funny that they show a picture of the football stadium with the caption "state-of-the-art". Um ... no ... erector set stadiums are not "state-of-the-art".

Also, he has coaches come to his office to give him tutorials on the game plans and such. Anytime big money is donated there are "strings" attached to some level.

Maybe we're going to the Big 12 after Texas moves to the NFL.

The best news would be a new conference. More likely it's the annoucement of a 4 or 5 star recruit coming ... or the announcement of another large donation ... or maybe the announcement of local tv coverage for our games. We'll see ...

You are exactly right! If only Dodge could have gone 12-0 every year and blown out whoever we played in the bowl game each year ... and then got us into a BCS bowl game at least one of those years ... and gotten the stadium built two years earlier ... and increased attendence by 20K ... heck, yea we could be in the MWC right now! It's all Dodge's fault!

He's fast, good vision, shifty, has strength to break tackles ... this kid may be too good to think about red shirting. His video is so much fun to watch I had to see it twice! Oh ... and he's a mudder.

Thunder Dan may be in the house but Rick V. has been brewing this storm for years. He's slowly built up the other sports, built up relationships with administration and boosters, and now the new stadium. Now we're ready for the lightning show!
