This is true. I was just escorted out of the stadium by the football staff. All practices will be closed to the public. No discussion. Uniforms like great in person.

Maybe that's why the lettering on the outside of the stadium that says Univeristy of North Texas is so small. They left room for the Sponsor or Name of the stadium. They could have know that this was coming and planned ahead.

The numbers are sewn into the field. The stencils you saw this morning are the pattern for cutting the green turf. They then use the same stencil for cutting out the white turf, then sew the white turf into the cut-out in the green turf. This same process will be used for the SOW logo at mid-field.

I have to say....I agree with everything in this post. I have been on or around the UNT campus since 1990, and consistency is the one thing we are lacking in our marketing. (apart from dollars) Green and White, New Eagle Logo (SOW) and lots of it.

I think this look is great. Can you do the same only using a green helmet with the white SOW and still work in some of the really cool stripes? I think the touch of granny apple green is awesome!

He's only been here a month. That's 30 days. When is the last time any of you moved to a new city, found a house, bought that house, closed on the house, and moved 1500 miles to that house in 30 days? Oh yeah, he has been putting his staff together and staying on top of recruiting efforts as well. Give the guy a break. He will buy a house when he gets a chance.

I'm not crazy about "getting the old band back together." I'd rather see Coach Mac create a new band. I'm ready to shed the old way of doing things around here. Onward and upward!

I didn't get the feeling that RV was meaning "on the cheap" by saying fiscally responsible. He mentioned earlier in the press conference that NT would invest in a proven coach or a proven assistant at a big time program. I think we will spend close to 3X on the next HC over what we paid TD. I think RV knows he needs to get this one right. He wouldn't be making statements like these if he didn't already have approval from the BOR to go out and find the right guy, even if it costs more than we are acustom to paying. With that said, I'm sure will will not be paying anyone in the seven figure range.

Whatever..... Football is the most visable ahletic program we have. While I am glad that girls volleyball and soccer are doing well, I wouldn't consider this year a success for the Athletic Department. Football carries too much weight in this state and it is a shame that it is such a disapointment at North Texas. We need to keep supporting the team. It's the only thing we can do as fans to make the situation any better.

If I am not mistaken, our luck changed the day we removed the script North Texas from the helmets and replaced it with the current North Texas font. To change our luck again, we must change the helmet logo to the SOW. It's the only way to solve these prolems. The football gods have spoken.

I hate to sound like the uninformed troller here, but are we really going back to the green helmets? I sure hope so. I've been on the BB board lately, so this may be some standing joke for all I know.

Amen! I will be at all the BB home games this year. I need some winning in my diet. Too much losing the in past 5 years of NT football. I am someone who was never really a basketball fan, but have really enjoyed watching NT BB the past few years. Its fun to go to the Super Pit and walk away in a great mood because NT won.

Weren't Scott White and Eric Pegram called the Dynamic Duo? I know they also had a billboard on I35 (lust before the lake on the Northbound side) that had their pics and the caption, "Lethal Weapons." This was around 1990.

When will the media world figure out that we haven't been North Texas State for over two decades. While I appreciate ESPN U broadcasting the game last night, I wish they would do a little more homework. I noticed several times that they refered to us as North Texas State and mis-pronounced players names. Poor Toby Nwigwe had him name messed up all night. Kylie Hill was called Kyle Hill. It went on and on. In the future, I think I will just turn down the TV volume and listen to George and Hank on the radio.
