  1. Far as I can tell, it's reputable. If not, we find the guy who started it and make him watch UNT basketball.

  3. With Harry's blessing, I'm making this thing its own thread. We've been talking for quite some time over on the "No more heckling" thread about ways to put loud fans in the section that Conference USA has deemed can no longer be allocated as student seating. We've set up a campaign to raise at minimum, $10,000, maxing out at $24,000 because that would be the entire section. I set the minimum at $10,000 because honestly, for fewer than 100 seats, this isn't going to have the desired effect. So if the campaign doesn't meet the minimum goal, nobody's card gets charged, we all take our balls and go home, no harm, no foul. If the campaign reaches $10,000, I will collect the money via crowdtilt and purchase the tickets through the recent alumni program via Eddie Delgado. I will assume no responsibility for ticket distribution. Christopher Walker has (by nomination) volunteered to be master distributor of tickets. I figure, he's young, he's got the connections, he lives in Denton, and his beard is glorious. What could possibly go wrong there? The campaign is set to end mid-day on July 27th. We've got 29 days, ladies and gentlemen. Lets fill apogee and keep our little home field advantage alive and well! Contribute! Contribute now! <--------that right there's the link to contribute. So go contribute! This post has been promoted to an article

  6. They just had a player taken #10 in the NBA draft. Apparently player development CAN be done.

  8. Good thing our coach has a history of taking former high star rating players that underachieved and turn them into NBA draft picks. Go J'Mychal!!

  11. This is all good for publicity and it does feel good, but we can't choke this season. There is way too much momentum behind this program for us to have a bad season.

  12. Did Harry Reid find the Redskins name offensive before it became popular to find it offensive?

  13. I've been saying for 6 months, mid-season, wait til next year. DW is going to explode onto the scene. Some of my buddies of which are UNT alum or UNT students would ask who's DW. Well North Texas is getting ready to do special things. I know if DW gets the start the offense is going to be special granted he stays healthy. I have just been waiting for a moment that might allow him to pull away, sounds like it may have happened yesterday. He just needs to ride the momentum every practice. GMG

  14. Derek is an Intern in the Athletic Office as is Ryan in Strength and Conditioning. Both are graduating in May with their Masters. They are out at practice because it is part of their Internship.

  15. 1) an indoor practice faclity doesn need to be 120 yards, most arent built to house a full size field. Baylor and TCU's are an 80yd field, 2) not only Texas colleges, but several high school programs around the state have built facilities. 3) Baseball is the bigger priority now, then I think a new track and field facility, 4) UTSA doesnt use the Alamodome for practice. They rent a high school stadium for a practice facility. They are/were builiding a track and practice facility that I think they finally has come online or soon will be. 5) Super Pit lights- technically the Pit is not an athletic facility. It was built as a convocation center and is under the control of the University, not the Athletic Dept.

  16. I'm on the fence about one. While I do agree they would be good to benefit the health of our athletes and the band could use it, having our players acclimated to the heat no doubt helped us in the Ball State game. I personally loved to practice on a muddy field back in the days. If there is a storm, and/or ligthing, it would be great because they could still practice during the weather. But I think having the players acclimated to the heat is a MJAOR thing.

  19. I personally find Paul Brown's last name offensive and think he should change it so that I can feel better. That also goes for anyone with the last name White, Black, or Red. They should all change their last name to Beige. I'm quite sure no one has ever been called beige, so it's a pretty non-offensive term. Oh, and about the Browns being named after Paul Brown? Maybe, maybe not: http://mentalfloss.com/article/25650/whats-nickname-origins-all-32-nfl-team-names Surly the second possibility offends no one, right?
