Jackie Kerestine wasnt asked to do much in her first live game action in almost a year.

The North Texas goalkeeper joked after her teams season-opening 3-0 win over Texas Southern on Friday that she was tired and beat on a night when she faced just one shot on goal.

Kerestine tore the anterior cruciate ligament in her left knee in the fourth game of last season and insisted being back on the field at the Mean Green Soccer Complex made up for a slow night.

Well take it, Kerestine said of the win. Every once in a while they [Texas Southern] kept me on my toes, so I stayed in the zone. I felt like a freshman; it was nerve-wracking. It also felt natural. I belong out there.
