Basketball: Lone senior Wali tabbed to guide Mean Green

In her 18 seasons at North Texas, head coach Tina Slinker hasn't had a player quite like DiDi Wali. Wali isn't the most talented guard Slinker has ever had or the most decorated, but she is one of the smartest and most motivated -- attributes that could come in handy this season when the Mean Green enter what amounts to a new era in the evolution of their program. UNT won the Sun Belt Conference West Division title last season and is picked to finish second this year despite a roster that has just one senior in Wali.
