Coach Dickey: Staff changes on the way

By BRETT VITO / Dentron Record-Chronicle

DENTON – Football coach Darrell Dickey said that there would be changes on his coaching staff before the beginning of next season.

Running backs coach/recruiting coordinator Bruce Bell announced his retirement from UNT late last year and completed his tenure with the Mean Green after putting together a final recruiting class.

UNT finished 2-9 last season, ending the Mean Green's four-year run as Sun Belt Conference champions.

Former UNT defensive coordinator Fred Bleil, who spent last season coaching San Diego State's defensive backs and special teams units, has been on campus. Bleil said earlier in the week that he was interested in talking with Dickey about rejoining the Mean Green's staff.

Bleil was the defensive coordinator at UNT in the 1996-97 seasons.

Looks like only changes right now due to retirments or staff just leaving, nothing based off performance as of yet?
