Mitchell is just not big enough to pick up 250 lb linebackers on the blitz protection. We either need to start using our younger and bigger fullbacks or place some tight ends back there as H-backs to provide some protection.

What the hell happened to my adopted player Kerrona Henderson? Is he still with the team? He was tearing things up from the FB position in fall practice and he's what, 220 lbs? Anyone know? Is this another case of DD playing the player with seniority no matter what? unsure.gif

I think Meager's got a few problems, some health related, and especially after Saturday some mental. However, we've invested too much time in him to turn away. I know we all want to make it a 5-peat and have the longest conference winning streak in the record books for a long time. But I think we also have to consider that Meager will be with us for 3 more years. We're all used to Scott Hall at the helm with his presence and abilities, but I believe that given time, Meager can do the same. We can't sit and compare quarterbacks because they are simply two different people with two different thought patterns and physical gifts.

Even though I didn't like Quincy Carter as the QB in Dallas, I supported him (at least when other people could hear) because he was at the helm. As a RS freshman QB, Meager is going to be a little vulnerable. It's the coaches' jobs to help him overcome and learn. As good fans, although we can question his playcalling and point out his mistakes, let's not forget that he's still young. If we support him now, we can be part of helping him grow into an outstanding QB.

As for Phillips, I'm a huge fan and I do hope he gets some playing time. However, I think Meager is the guy for this year, and I say support Meager now and watch in the off season to see who wants the starting job more.

      Glorified Junior Colleges?

      College football has always been a food chain. The problem now is the instant movement allowed every year for players with no sit-out for transfers. Maybe if the Texas Tech's, and other mid-P4's of FBS, start feeling the pain of having star players stolen then more restrictions will happen.

      Wow a sobering statement indeed. This has to be having an energy effect on most programs. Will college football actually become less popular? I mean the power programs say no way, never. I am not so sure about this. It won’t go as niche as golf. But investment works 2 ways. GMG
