2004-2005 Team MVP

Hines, no question about it. They guy took care of the ball, scored points when he had to, and always was grabbing rebounds at a position which it isn't expected from him. I would like to see him become a shutdown defender however.

Leonard was great, but Hines made the offense run.

We have a lot of work to do in mens hoops.

Hines did it all. Except make free throws when we really needed them, but he had the best overall season.

Who on this team made free throws when we really needed them?????

I'm sure the free throw issue stems from the UNO game. (The Skip-Bo game, we did well from the line). To defend Hines in that instance he was playing with leg cramps and he was clearly not himself, on offense, defense, and obviously at the line too. If anything, that game showed his value because with him on the bench, the last 4 seconds aside, we saw a 10 point lead evaporate in under a minute. If you recall the TCU game, the team fell apart without him as well.

I voted for Hines too. I think all his contributions have been mentioned, but on top of all that, he was easily the most consistent player on a team that struggled with consistency.

I voted for Other. And, I mean this in all seriousness.....

My MVPs for the 2004-2005 season: The guys who founded The Pit Crew.

I think they have started a great, new spirit group.....which hopefully will be around for many years.

If I had to pick a player, I'd go with Oh! J. Simpson.

I agree, he is very adept at cutting through defenses and shredding opponents. I'd like to see him work on more slashing to the basket and slicing around double-teams. ohmy.gif

Who was the MVP for the Mean Green men this season?

On the court, Hines. I bet he becomes more of a vocal leader as well by next season.

Off the court, Pit Crew. The Crew's enthusiasm was contagious for the rest of the crowd. Hopefully it will continue to grow.
