Memories of Herb Larkins

I was the young lady that was dating Herb Larkins when this terrible accident happened. I was just speaking to my daughter about him when she googled his name and pulled up the article on him. This brought tears to my eyes as I remember that day! That dreadful life changing day. I was saddened to hear how poorly North Texas had treated him and anger fills my heart! I surprised Herb one day years ago when Bill sent for me!!! I felt so incomplete. But I was so happy to experience that same love smile that left me in 1970!!!!!! But I also experienced the most real friendship between two people, Bill and Herb, like I’ve never ever seen. That was a very very true friendship and I admire all that Bill did. I am saddened that I did not know of the financial  difficulties that Herb experienced. I could have done so much more to assist him. People often talk about life changing moments! Well that was truly a life changing moment for me that will linger in my heart forever! One thing about it, I will always have a very special place in my heart for him. I know that he is resting in peace with our lord and savior.
